nope – no mystery, actually. Rev. Rory is a dumbass and forgot to post it while repainting and doing trim in his house this weekend.
In case you’ve missed it, our guests Sit Kitty Sit have been on the show many times. Well, when fact checking, we realize we just talk about them a lot and it’s been a few years since they’ve actually been on ye olde WLP.
SKS has not been taking this quarantine sitting down. NO! They’ve managed to continue to wow their audiences with virtual sets via Zoom! (the very service they suggested to us to keep the podcast going in quarantine) Most recently, they had a rousing set with Mark Earnest of Vague Choir and Michelle Belle of The Grimtones. Raksha Paksha and Other Made Up Words – S10 E11
Welcome all to the last, and late episode of our Women’s March. For the record – it was recorded in March, so nyah.
We are happy to have our good friends, a new and improved Raksha Paksha on the show this week. The duo is now a trio! Carolyn and Shaolin Gates are joined by multi-talented bassist, Kat MacMartin! Kat’s talents extend far past the bass, as you’ll hear in the interview.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to rig it up for any live music, but the ladies did bring a few tracks for us to use. Their new album is due to come out sometime this year, as long as the planet doesn’t eat us all first. The COVIDtones – Live and Uninfected – S10 E10
…and we are BACK!
Like many of you, we were a little unprepared last week and made an 11th hour decision not to record the show. We do apologize to our scheduled guest, Andii Rose, for the late notice and hope to get her rescheduled later this summer. This week we were able to utilize the technology of the FUTURE (now)!!!! A big thanks to Zoom Cloud Meeting Pro for being available to help us make this show happen even during a global health crisis. We have recorded a show in disparate locations and STILL had a great time.
Continuing with Week 3 of Women’s March, in a Worst Little Podcast first, we bring you The Grimtones in a live, teleconferenced episode of the show. If you know the show, you know Michelle Belle and Carter Stellon are longtime friends of WLP and co-conspirators with Dogwater Studios.
Originally, they were supposed to come on to promote and upcoming show (with Sit Kitty Sit… who showed us the Zoom app so we can do their podcast in a couple weeks), shich has since been cancelled …. (but according to sources, MAY still happen over the interwebz, so stay tuned). So, we hung out and talked about their release from last December, the plague COVID-19 health crisis, and how we’ve all been faring in lockdown.
They also treat us to some actual live acoustic music! We get just a couple songs off the CD “Nine Lives” (which you can check out everywhere online), but mostly, we get whole new iterations, unique utterances, of some great Grimtones tunes.
Live we say in the show, we hope everyone out there is staying safe and isn’t in dire need of anything. Most importantly, we do encourage everyone to wash their hands and stay home as much as possible – especially resident nurse, Kadillac Kim! If nothing happens, we did our jobs.

THEE Saturday Knights – Skate Tough Or Go Home – S10 E6
It’s a full studio of screaming monkeys this week! Thee Saturday Knights lays down some awesome music in-between keeping the gang in stitches. but wait! There’s more! After a rousing first segment about goat husbandry in the High Sierras , we get treated to a fantastic double dose of their high-octane music.
Joining our thrash garage rockers is good buddy Spencer Eldridge of Reno Skate Alliance. RSA helps new skaters learn skills and get access to gear. They meet weekly at different skate parks in the area and all ages and skill levels are welcome to join them.

Reno’s premiere skating event, SK8 Jam is back for it’s 7th year of all things skating, DIY, contests, bands and fun! 12noon -12mid, all-ages, $15 each. the scattering – conquer and survive – S10 E5
And we’re back. Our guests this week are the fine lads from the scattering: Jim, Jason, Rash and Brian! They are Reno’s hottest barbershop quartet, harmonizing and crooning their way into our hearts. Just kidding – the scattering is Reno hardcore metal, screaming and burrowing its way into your brains.
Chewie is back in Reno and swaps in for Nick this week. It’s always good to have him in person as opposed to the Evil Chewie that lives in the soundboard.
In the five years since they were last on the show, there have been some changes, including the addition of Rash and a whole mess of new songs. We got to talk to the scattering about their upcoming album, sinking, later this year (Humaniterrorist) and the Great Vinyl Shortage of 2020. You can listen to earlier recordings on their bandcamp page and keep up with the timeline of the release.
We also talk with Jim about his youtube channel, Goatlord Hiking. He and Brian traipse around in the wilds, making mistakes, overcoming them and filming it all for later info and skill building. This is not day hiking – this is survival hiking, and sometimes, things can go really wrong.
