Infecto Skeletons – Back for More – S8 E23
S8 E25
Hey gang! Long time no hear! It’s been a crazy month with cancellations and surgeries and travelling and a whole bunch of other unexpected things, but we are finally back! Most of us anyway.
Nick, Rick and Kim welcome the Infecto Skeletons back to the studio. Mike and Andrew stop in to talk about stuff. Now, this is Rory doing the post and guess what – I haven’t listened to the episode yet (shocker, I know), but I do know one thing that they are talking about on the show: the new album. That’s right! The long awaited second release from Reno’s favorite scuzz-punks will hit the internet this weekend, and for a limited time, you’ll be able to download “Get Your Shit Together”, absolutely free!
After this though, it might be a while before you can catch them: in September, they are headed out for the Lost Skeletons Tour – a wild West Coast tour with Lost Idea, so grab the album while you can, learn all the words and wait patiently to forget them all while you puke on Justin’s feet in front of the stage at their next show in Reno.
Coming up this weekend is a lot of great shows you will want to get out of the house for.

What a great show! I’m actually listening to this one right now so I can say so with authority! The Infecto Skeletons invade The New Dogwater Studios (Dog H202?) for the first time. For the uninitiated, he Infectos are a punk rock band from Reno NV that has been with us for a number of years now. And to put it in a nutshell: They fucking kill it. They thrash, they rage, they wail and croon. They get people moving and don’t stop until they are ready to fall over. They are a great band to see and a fucking onlaught of fun and drama and punk rock to hang out with.
The Infecto Skeletons share with us a bunch of new songs on the show, songs that will be on the new album! If you want to catch them this weekend, they will be playing at PUNK VS. METAL, a Myke Read Presents night of punk rock and metal, with a winner to be declarede at the end of the bout, by popular applause! Are you a punk? Are you a metalhead? Come see Infecto Skeletons, Dissidence, The Business End, Ostracized, The Sex Devils and Down Time and cheer your team on!!
Last weekend, I went out to see “Shiner“, the most recent Good Luck Macbeth production, and it hit me in the sweet spot. Directed by Bill Ware, written by Christian Durso and starring Kate Atack and Patrick John Kiernan, “Shiner” is the story of two outcast teenagers in the mid-90’s, set in the weeks leading up to Kurt Cobain’s death. It is a must-see; don’t hesitate, just trust me. Nostalgic, without being saccharine, the journey of the characters is easily accessible to anyone who was in their teens and twenties in that decade. It helped me reach back across the years and touch the righteous fire of my rebellion, wince with chagrin at the all-too-familiar awkward actions of a newbie poser. It’s not a play of remembrance and a better time, cause the world was shit then and it still is now; it is a play of reminding, reminding you about what was important, what was wrong, and what drove you before you learned to compromise. It’s surreal and invigorating and inspiring. My initial reaction upon walking outside and being asked what I thought: “I need a cigarette, a moment, a shot, to rub one out, a snackl and maybe a nap.” This is good theater, kids, theater that doesn’t compromise and invites you to come as you are. Srsly. Go. Follow the link above or right here and buy tickets now. There are only three shows left.
Can’t forget to mention RAGEcon! June 26-28, at the JA Nugget, Reno Area Gaming Extreme Convention is the area’s newest tabletop gaming convention. Offering tabletop gaming events, including board games, card games, dice games, miniatures games and RPGs, RAGEcon will also feature discussion panels on gaming and cosplay, and a cosplay contest, emcee’d by Thee Reverend Rory. Reverend Rory, Felix Danger and other notable area nerds will be on hand to speak at length and offer opinions about gaming. Come join the dorky fun!
This Friday is the Final First Friday at Foxy Olive with the Reverend Rory Dowd. Sad, but true. It’s been an awesome run and we’ve had a lot of fun this past year, but events out of our control make it un-feasible. Our Guest is Glynn Osburn of Limbo State, who is an amazing performer and will be a great note to go out on. Come out, help us close it down reel gud and party like a rock star.
We love the Infecto Skeletons. Especially Andy.
Thanks for Listening.
OUT SICK – UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Hi, kids,
No episode this week – Rev. Rory and Nick caught the creepin’ crud while backstage at the Tooth of Crime this weekend. Meanwhile, Rick is still getting the new studio dialed in so he wasn’t too dismayed by the extra week off. Unfortunately we missed getting to talk with our Reno friends, Infecto Skeletons, and also Tacoma-area musician and friend of the show, Kye Alfred Hillig, who is back on tour this spring. Kye is a fantastic musician and hell of a guy to hang out with. And I’m super bummed to have missed him! Catch Kye Alfred Hillig out at Monolith Bar this Saturday night with Paul Jordan.
Our other guests this week were supposed to be Infecto Skeletons, a Reno punk rock legend in the making. The Infectos have a couple of really big shows coming up that they wanted us to let you know about. First, on April First (no joke), the Infectos, along with Out For War, The Liver Scars and The Vampirates will be opening for the the truly legendary D.R.I. at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor. This is going to be an insane show! You better be there!
Then, later in the month, on every slacker’s favorite holiday, 4/20, Infecto Skeletons get the chance to play with Denver’s In The Whale and SoCal’s own skate punk pioneers, Agent Orange at Shea’s Tavern. Some truly earth shattering punk rock happenin’ in the RNO.
Also don’t forget that this is your last weekend to go see Sam Shepard’s “Tooth of Crime: Second Dance” at Jub Jub’s featuring Nick and Reverend Rory along with Kevin long, John Lutz, Jill Marlene, Scott Dundas, The Vampirates and Jeff Done and starring Lew Zaumeyer and Andy Luna, and directed by Dave Richards.
Thanks for listening!
Infecto Skeletons – Refined, Relaxed and Retarded – S3 E27
Hey, did you know we actually still do a show?
Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – 2013 09 09
Hey boys and girls!!! Did you miss us? We missed you!!! We all had a great vacation this past August and are ready to hit the back third of the year with some awesome shows! Fist up to bat, we have the Infecto Skeletons, recent staple of the ReNO punk rock music market. These guys were out there a lot this spring and summer, smashing old skool punk rock into audience’s ears. Infecto Skeletons even just got off of a So-Cal mini-tour, branching out from Mother Reno.
We had a good time with them at the house and on the show. Maybe went a little overboard on the pre-party… we talked too much and then didn’t have anything to say on the show that was coherent. Go figure! On THIS show? But the boys in Infecto Skeletons put down some killer tracks that had me wishing I was drunk and at Shea’s with Felix or something, so I could blindly and drunkenly crash around the room to their dulcet tones.
Infecto Skeletons are Justin Minyard (vocals), Andrew Hockenberry (drums), Rash Kader (bass) and Mike Read (guitar). Aside from being a lot of fun to hang out with andd playing some great Reno punk rock music, they … uh… well, that’s about it really. I didn’t get that far in the interview – got distracted by the Worst Little Quiz and the epic battle for Last Place.
If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, we have really only two events we want to draw your attention to (Infecto Skeletons is playing at neither of them). First is on Friday at the Public House – Lend Jimi Damone a Hand – more info on the event to help Jimi Damone who recently suffered a debilitating accident in the show and on the event page. You can also donate to the cause at the Jimi Damone GiveForward page, where they have raised nearly 1/3 of their goal.
Also Sunday, please join Nick Ramirez at the Artist’s Lofts for a fundraiser for his cat, Loopy Lupe – listen and read, people, listen and read.
And don’t forget the Blazing Mics every Monday at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor, brought to you by the Worst Little Podcast!
As always, my friends, Thanks For Listening – see you next week!
