Roxxy Collie joins us this week on the show. A new Reno rock band, Roxy Collie is a conglomeration of other Reno bands and bring some serious talent to bear. Of course, Mr. “I’m in 8000 Bands” Nick Ramirez is in this latest project on drums. He backs up Steve Barron, Jon Cornell, Pat Rhea and the vocal stylings of the always impressive, Margy Ford.

We drink. We laugh. We tell an awful lot of dick jokes. Actually, no. Well, yes, there are dick jokes, but we didn’t have much time for talk, since the band had to kick our ears’ asses with awesome music. Coincidentally, the band is named after American Orinthologist Roxie Collie Laybourne. Since Nick was in the band, he couldn’t host, so the WLP Webmaster, Lord Stryse stops in to take the third chair. It’s always good to have him here with us in the studio!

Finally, finally, finally! We got The Kanes in the studio!! Well, 2/3 of them anyway – Mick was just too cool for school and couldn’t make it, but Adam Springob and Greg Gilmore came in with their guitars and laid down some sweet sweet honey for your ears – including *ahem* another worldwide exclusve first-listen here on the Worst Little Podcast. Yeah. We kewl like dat. These guys are one of the most exciting bands in town, hands down. I love watching them play. This acoustic set they play for us, while a little more laid back, is still pretty powerful and pretty pretty pretty. We talk about their potential shows in the future and some of the shows they’ve played htis summer – and then the quiz. The Quiz! We have our first ever DISQUALIFICATION! I also want to take a moment out to mention Kelly ‘Stitch’ Proud, a local performer and friend of the show. Last week, Kelly was hospitalized for an unknown ailment and is currently on a vantilator to breathe for her and a paralytic drip. She is literally fighting for her life right now and not out of the woods yet. Since she is a performer and member of the service industry, she doesn’t have health insurance or much to fall back on when she doesn’t work. If you have the inclination, please visit the link above to make a donation. A singer, musician and actor, Kelly was also the emcee for the Midnight Minx review. They have an upcoming show this thursday at Cargo inside CommRow, RAW Artists Reno: Radiate. So, this episode was supposed to be number 2 of the new season. Episode 1 was supposed to be an audio of our live show. Unfortunately there was some sort of computer malfunction after the fact and the entire show was lost. So yeah. To make it up to you we thought we’d have some drugs for our first show of season 2 – Miracle Drugs!

Well, we have 3/4 of Miracle Drugs, anyway. Zac Damon (Zoinks!, Screeching Weasel, Squirtgun, Crushstory, Big In Japan), Shane Forester and Tim ‘A.J.’ Blake (local bands you’ve never heard of) were able to join us in the Dogwater Studios. Drummer and token non-Frenchie, Pierre Marche (Screeching Weasel, Sucka Punch), has listened to the podcast before and politely declined the appearance. Contrastingly, as you can tell by his sincere-est smile in the picture, Zac was super excited to come do the show!
Miracle Drugs have been polluting the air with their peppy poppy toe-tappy happy music for a while now. You might want to check them out. You might really really like them. Their next show is Friday Feb 3, 2012 – Punk Rock Prom at The Alley in Sparks!

This first episode of the new year is a real class act; there is nothing overtly sexual or graphoc within the first 15 minutes of the episode. Not at all. Guest host Layla James certainly doesn’t put up or condone any of that nonsense. She keeps us on-point and in-line from the get-go! Thanks Layla, you’re a loudmouthed bitch peach!

The non-stop value-added entertainment rollercoaster continues to give you more! Nick and Rory have been busy worker bees recently. Nick discovers something about his sexuality brings in some old cuts from his old band, Source, for us all to enjoy. He has a lot of irons in the fire and at least one will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Reno News and Review. Rory reveals a secret. A really big secret. It’s awesome and even this blog post is tempting fate. WLP Webmaster Shaun Burks sits in and finds out what his true role in the show is. Rickey stays pretty quiet during most of the show (as well he should). And we play a game in-studio!
