(Due to the snow we received recently this show was barely pulled off. Braving the weather, a host and the band made it.)

Kicking off our annual celebration of Reno women on the scene, Women’s March brings us the sweet sounds of Roxxy Collie, a female-fronted quintet featuring the amazing vocal talent of Margy Ford. Songwriter and keyboardist Jon Cornell is joined by Jack Soft on guitar, Larry Cooper on bass, and WLP’s very own Nick Ramirez on drums, to form a quirky and dynamic rock band that highlights Margy’s vocals.

We talk about our weekend a little, discuss the options of an appropriate name for the  new album they’re working on, Jon’s unusual job and of course -birds!

You can catch Roxxy Collie March 25th at The Cellar at Alturas with The Will Shamberger Band and The Grimtones! (celebrating their 15th anniversary!)
Due to the weather most of the cast took the night off out of safety. Being able to bring you this weeks show was a real blessing. Viva Roxxy Collie and WLP!
Life is short and we love you!
Thanks for listening.

Welcom back, music fans! This week we have the beautiful rock music of Roxxy Collie.
A female fronted quintet, Roxxy Collie has a full rich sound , deep lyrics and humor. They’ve been called ‘art rock’ and ‘chillcore’, they’re very unique for sure.

The lineup is Margy Ford, the songbird, Jon Cornell on keyboard, Stephen on electric guitar, Nick Ramirezon beats, and their newest member, Larry Cooper, on bass and background vocals.
We discuss Dogwater Dick’s weekend, dead birds, song lyrics and the Reno Punk Rock Flea Market among other things.

We get a bunch of new material from the band and a sweet Duran Duran cover at the end.
Sending our love and positive energy to our good friends and fellow musicians, Tom Plunkett and Andy Hernandez, both in the ICU at the time of this writing. Hang in there rockers. We love you.

Thanks for listening!

We never said we were good at scheduling, which is why we are concluding our Women’s March in April (but it was recorded in March – really!). We are super excited to wrap things up with one of the great friends of the show, and all of us personally, the incredible singer, Margy Ford.

Margy Ford via Zoom giving a thumbs up

Margy Ford has been a mainstay of the Reno music scene for the better part of the last decade. Her strong singing talents and affable nature have pushed her into the limelight in bands like Candyshoppe, Satellite Serenade, Wheatstone Bridge and, of course, the contemporary Roxxy Collie. Plus, she’s just a blast to talk to .

We check in with her musical progress, as well as her recovery after a bad injury during the pandemic. When will the next Roxxy Collie album come out? You might just have to stay tuned…

Welcome! Kim and Rory played hooky this week, but fortunately our other hosts Nick, Chewy, and Dogwater Dick were present to pick up the slack. Press play right now to hear some SUPER SECRET (okay, it’s not secret, but it is SUPER) Grimtones news that you’ll only hear on the Worst Little Podcast! This weeks show has everything – astrology, tales of auto-erotic asphyxiation, and uncomfortable silences. Pretty much in that order!

Our guest this week is Reno Jackson 5 cover band experimental, psychedelic alt-rock band, Blacklisted. Established in 2015, Blacklisted is what happens when you form a band while on drugs (calm down, it’s legal now!). The band is busy writing new music and is planning on a spate of February and March shows.

Don’t forget to click through to our Patreon. Rick works hard all week and spends his night off recording/archiving Reno bands for FREE. So kick some funds down. Feel like you want a little something in return for your scratch? We’ll do just about anything. Want some stickers? We’ve got stickers. Advertising? Our silky radio voices are primed and ready. Want us to host topless? Hit us up.

Roxxy Collie joins us this week on the show. A new Reno rock band, Roxy Collie is a conglomeration of other Reno bands and bring some serious talent to bear. Of course, Mr. “I’m in 8000 Bands” Nick Ramirez is in this latest project on drums. He backs up Steve Barron, Jon Cornell, Pat Rhea and the vocal stylings of the always impressive, Margy Ford.

We drink. We laugh. We tell an awful lot of dick jokes. Actually, no. Well, yes, there are dick jokes, but we didn’t have much time for talk, since the band had to kick our ears’ asses with awesome music. Coincidentally, the band is named after American Orinthologist Roxie Collie Laybourne. Since Nick was in the band, he couldn’t host, so the WLP Webmaster, Lord Stryse stops in to take the third chair. It’s always good to have him here with us in the studio!
