Johnny Harpo – Loudmouth Love-in – S11 E3
How much Johnny Harpo is enough Johnny Harpo? Well, here at the Worst Little Podcast, we say there is NEVER enough Johnny Harpo! This episode marks his 600th appearance on our show – truly amazing.
We get into it deep, right off the bat, talking about recording, Rigorous Proof‘s upcoming album, Star Trek, a rundown of Johnny’s musical history in Reno, even a quick Max Volume story. Johnny and Rory come to a long-overdue reconciliation over a review you probably have never read – truly a tearful moment.
We also want to congratulate Nick and Mikie Ramirez on the birth of their daughter, Pauline Marianne Ramirez, on 2/2/21. She already has them wrapped around her finger. She had not quite yet been born when we recorded this, so it’s a teaser.
Also – please don’t forget about the Reno Punk Rock Flea Market – Kim and Ian have been working with all of our friends over at the Generator and the Flea to make this event happen in the virtual COID world. Streaming this weekend, 02/12/21 wherever you can find social media.
Next Week: Muralist Joe C Rock and Fresh Bakin’s Steve Emmerich

This week we have Johnny Harpo from Rigorous Proof back in the studio. Johnny sat down with us to discuss the state of Reno’s music scene (spoilers – Reno is killing it), the happenings at The Saint, and to play some original, never recorded tunes. You can hear the bands single, AK47 on 100.1 The X and NV89 Radio, and here right now!
Every Wednesday night you can catch Johnny hosting Music Industry Night at St. James Infirmary where he plays local music all night. Get your records in his hands, drink some St. James beer, and support your industry night.

Dogwater Studios transforms into a house of rock and roll when these boys come around. Johnny Harpo, Wes Forster, Jesse Gaddis and Greg Grenade of The Defabulators invade with their blazing guitars and yowlin’ sound! There wasn’t a dry seat in the studio after their first song – mostly sweat, but I’m not picky.
The Defabulators are back in action and ready to play and record a bunch of new tunes they play for us on the show today. Nothing is booked just yet, though and they don’t have a website or anything, because they’re old skool Reno rock and rolla’s like that. You’ll have to keep your ear to the ground to catch them.
We are also happy to Officially Announce the Presentation of Ye Olde Pinky Polanski Rocky Horror Picture Show Extravaganza!!!! That’s right! The Pinky Polanski Boys and Reverend Rory will be putting on the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the newly rebuilt Cargo at Whitney Peak – ON HALLOWEEN!!! Two shows – 8pm and midnight!!! For the third year in a row we will be bringing you our own special brand of Reno Rocky – complete with live music, live audience participation and live RHPS virgins!!!!! Stay tuned for details!!!
Go Do stuff!
Thanks for Listening!

Rock and roll hoochie koo all over your gabba gabba hey! Rigorous Proof, early guests of the show, come back this week and kick the roof off, reminding us why they’re still a successful rock band in Reno. Johnny Harpo, Adam Landis, Jesse Gaddis and Wes Forester rejoin us in the studio.
The Worst Little Podcast in the World would like to take this time to officially endorse Bob and Mike Grimm for Co-Mayors of Reno. Although they didn’t make it in the free for all primary (finishing with -3 votes), they still remain viable write-in candidates with a platform, WLP can really stand on.
In case you’ve missed them, Rigorous Proof is a 4 piece rock funk band here in the Washoe County. Having gone through some name and lineup changes in the past four years, they are back together as the original band with a whole new set of songs, polished to a sharp keen. Having laid low for a while, they’ve been writing and recording a new album, due out later this year. This episode teases some of their new songs.
This weekend, please join me at Evil Dead: The Musical: The Reno Edition Freak Show Fundraiser. We are putting together funds to help bring this show to Reno in October, coinciding with our Indiegogo campaign. Featuring sideshow and varietal entertainment, this show will wow the socks off you. Come see mentalism, acts representing the peak of physical control, dancing ladies, escapistry and feats of musicianchip, including Lacey Mattison, Cody Canon, Alphabet Cult, The Shames and Pinky Polanski performing the songs of Rocky Horror Picture Show!!! Only $7 – and we have a raffle with great prizes including tattoo gift certificates, cheesecake, a thirty second commercial and more!
Thanks again to Rigorous Proof for coming in and hanging out – they’re a bunch of fun dudes who love making music and telling stories.
Thanks for listening!
