Join us as we celebrate WLP founding member Josh “Chewie” Martin’s birthday with a trip to 1990’s Reno. From Chewie’s personal archive of cassettes and compact discs we get crazy eclectic with tracks from metal act War Maggots, indie masterminds Grey Mauzer, hardcore Reno hip hop from The Line and the western surf sounds of Del Mar(from the 2010’s).
We teach Patrick about pagers and MySpace, reminisce the recent past and our upcoming 600th episode celebration and the distant past of days long gone.
Chill out with us and aurally time travel to the 1900’s on a very special day.
Have a great 4th. Stay safe and sane out there.
See live music and local theater while the getting’s good.
Life is short and we love you.
Thanks for listening.
Happy Pride Month!
Holy moly y’all Kadillac booked another banger! Radio DJ, actor, former WLP cohost and current Brewery Arts Center special event coordinator/social media manager, Jamie Lynn Woodham joins us with all the 411 on BAC and Sassabration events.
One man band and electric emo folk singer songwriter, Ribcage provides the songs this week. Making beautiful heartfelt music live in the studio.
The Haus of Vertigo is a collective of artists and Drag Queens who also recently took home awards in the short film festival Moon Rocks sci-fi competition also held at Brewery Arts Center!
Vertigo, Armani the Star and Vulvateen the singing queen are the bees’ knees.
We marvel at the full circle and kismet cosmic synchronicity of it all.
Lotsa love and a gay ol’ time was had by all.
You can find Ribcage on all the streaming services and Haus of Vertigo on instagram and Facebook. Jamie and the Brewery Arts Center at breweryarts.org and the Sassabration Facebook page.
Be true to yourself, make art and be fabulous everyone.
With Chris on guitar and vox,
Looney with the occasional vox, Yuni on Guitar and Favian slapping the Double Bass accompanied by Christian the designated mastermind, Nueva Elegancia are a musical group with traditional Mexican guitar style but I wouldn’t call them a mariachi band.
Young fellas with an average age around 20, playing the music they grew up on and creating their own niche in Northern Nevada.
We had a blast learning about the band and their brotherhood and drive.
They take the quiz and delight us with several tunes.
Nueva Elegancia are young, confident and ready to take on the world. They are on Instagram @nuevaelegancianv and available for booking shows and special events.
Thanks for listening!
Life is short and we love you
Ford Goodman joins us speaking about his crowd funded and nonprofit organization to bring professional live music performances to the people. From forthesong.org :” The “For The Song” Fund has been established by local Patrons and the ArrowCreek community to provide support for nationally-touring, critically acclaimed artists. We provide significant financial guarantees for private shows that fuel 2- and 3-performance visits to the Reno/Tahoe community. Superb artists who may not otherwise offer their art here gain a new appreciation for all that is special about Northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe region. The music business model for all but the most well-known musicians has been severely impacted by streaming, making touring the only realistic revenue source. Radius clauses and tight margins at traditional venues constrain touring revenues to the point that Northern Nevada often misses out on extraordinary and up-and-coming artists on their way to larger markets. “
Matt Bushman is our musical guest this week. It was a treat to hear him mix it up live for us. With his smooth vocals and thoughtful poetry combined with acoustic and electric guitar on loops with beats created from the guitar body as well as harmonies from the pedal board. Catchy and emotional tunes by a one very talented man .
Matt is working hard on new material and enjoying the process from new and exciting perspectives.
You can find Matt’s music on the usual platforms and services.
It was great catching up. Thanks Mr. Goodman and thanks Mr. Bushman it was a great one.
Kadillac Kim of course with the four one one on your Reno rock weekend. And Chewie’s back! Yes!
Thanks for listening
This weeks guests are brothers Conor & Evan on bass and guitar, and Travis on drums who together are the power trio known as Memory Circle.
Smooth, funky, psychedelic, surfy, spacey soundscape songs that are musical jammy fun.
We listen to several demo recordings, get their origin story and talk a lot about movies and directors.
As usual since it’s their first time, we play a round of the worst little quiz.
You can find Memory Circle on the socials, Spotify and YouTube. After they finish their debut EP they plan on doing shows again.
We’re looking forward to it!
Nick shares his new Tenacious D Pick of Destiny bolo tie made by Sophia Shortz of the band inpatient.
Hit her up for your custom rock gear.
S15E06 Sweet Decay- Rabbit Light Tapestry
How sweet it is to be back with indie folk duo Sweet Decay.
CJ plays guitar and he and Autumn both sing in a beautiful powerhouse harmony.
They’re having a blast as Sweet Decay and since they are a couple they can easily practice write and riff together often. They approach songwriting with diligence and whimsy often picking 3 random nouns and running with whatever may come before refining a song. Just keep going.
They take the journey they’re on very seriously and would expand the band with strings and mandolin if they found people who who fit and were seriously down to work hard and often.
Both are strong solo performers but together they elevate the music and the vibe.
You can find them on Instagram @sweet.decaymusic ,YouTube and most streaming platforms.
We play a super fun quiz and Patrick joins Nick and Rick as a co host for the first time.
We had a sweet time with Sweet Decay and you will too.
This one’s for all you lovers out there. Enter Candy all dolled up donning skull face make up and ripping the vocals. With seasoned blues man Chris on guitar. The man who totally loves fun, cool Keith on bass. On second guitar; the shredder young Jared, and drumming the heartbeat of the band, hailing from the SF bay, the fresh new guy Kellen…. and they are Candy Apples and the Razorblades performing the romantic stylings of the Misfits for our sexy Valentine’s Day edition of the Worst Little Podcast!
We love you and on our 581st episode we have a hot date with the tight tribute to Danzig era Misfits and our dear friends and mostly vets to the show, however drummer Kellen is a WLP virgin! Candy has been on once and never took the quiz. Same with Jared. So we have a beautiful three way competition whilst Chris and Keith join in on asking questions. A hilarious bonding experience, just what a lovely Valentines show needs. Candy impressed us with her powerful singing voice that contrasts her conversation voice in a truly remarkable way. She’s a total sweetheart.
Have some fun with us worst little valentines, we want your skulls! to be filled with love and rock and roll because we love rock and roll and!
Have a wonderful aural encounter with Kim, Dick, Chewy, Nick and a quintet killer cuties Candy Apples and the Razorblades. Hook up with them on Instagram and Facebook. Slide in their DMs for bookings.
Life is short
Make it sweet
We love you
Happy VD!
This week we have Chewbacca taking the lead host slot because our musical guest this week is One Ton Dually featuring our lead hosts and bestest buddies Nick and Rory on drums and bass. Rory also sings with Spike Ritchie and Stephen Barron on guitars.
Being men of a certain age there is mostly a lot of dude talk about health, tv shows, video games and Rory’s tattoos.
Fresh off their show at VSB opening for Los Pistoleros and legendary underground Uk granddaddies of psychobilly the Meteors, we hear a few songs they’re putting on their new album tentatively titled The Finger. They’re a mix of hard rock, skate punk with wit and a little nerdiness.
It’s great to be back and have some old friends in the studio.
So enjoy this episode with what some have called a great party band, the high octane garage rock of One Ton Dually!
That’s right, first one up for 2025 is…drum roll… Last One Down! A punk quartet featuring Josh Watson on guitar & backing vox, Andy Harrison lead vox & guitar, new bass player Adam Coldwell, and rockstar drummer from Screeching Weasel and Suckapunch; Pierre Marchè, who wasn’t able to make the podcast. That being the case instead of a live performance we get a little more laid back episode with a few tracks from their album Failing Dreams and a new single as well. Straight ahead melodic punk rock full of angst and humor, fast and catchy tunes executed by highly proficient musicians.
Adam being a newbie to the show takes the worst little quiz and is hilarious. We cover the band’s history and plans for the future including an upcoming show in Sacramento with legendary punks the Queers.
Nick, Chewie, Kim, Dogwater Dick all welcome our associate producer Patrick Starfish to the cast and Dick’s new rescued dog and Dogwater studio mascot Mila. We also revel in the fact that we have officially entered season 15 of our favorite hobby, bringing you the ever-evolving Reno music scene year after year with no signs of ending any time soon.
We love you worst little listeners in the world, you’re the best. Especially you patreon members ! If you’d like to up your support for WLP you can sign up for our bonus shows at patreon.com/worstlittlepodcast and join the best of the best… or rather the best of the worst.
It’s great to be back. Thanks for listening. Happy New Year!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and our last episode of the season.
Join us for music, merriment and our final conversation of the year.
Rory’s youngest Billy was in studio but didn’t really have much to say while the adults carried on for an hour.
He seemed amused.
We welcome our intern Starfish to associate producer status and shall now be known by his real name Patrick. We get to know Patrick a little better by giving him the last quiz of 2024.
Music courtesy of our very own Nick Ramirez, a new one by Randall Wolfe, and the awfully jolly LNOY, all Christmas tunes. This year’s show is not our usual PG vibe, it’s definitely R. You’ve been warned.
Have a great holiday season and we’ll be back mid January to kick off season 15! Thank you all for a fantastic season of the Worst Little Podcast in the World. Life is short, hug your friends. Happy New Year. Peace and love to you and yours. Goodnight 2024
SEE YOU IN 2025 for SEASON 15!
