Cruel Ultimatum – The Art of Vincemilking 12 E11
Are you ready to rage? Down to get a little funked up? These are horrible lead-up cliches to describe this weeks guest, but I truly mean it when I say there is nothing else like Cruel Ultimatum right now in all the land (of Northern Nevada)!
Formed in the uncertain times of the pandemic, Cruel Ultimatum has only been playing out for about 9 months, but they have definitely come in hot to the local music scene. Cruel Ultimatum is Evan Ultimatum (vocals), Haley Ultimatum (guitar), Scotty Ultimatum (drums) and Daddy Ultimatum (bass). They are a powerviolence hardcore band that have quickly gained a diverse fanbase, spanning the ages.
They are also a blast to hang out with – we are in tears at a few points in this show. I really can’t say much more about it without spoiling the episode, but to was a really great time and we hope you think so too. Their songs are creatively layered and dynamic, shifting gears and time signature smoothly and effortlessly. The strong and aggressive music is complemented by the original lyrics penned by Evan, as if by magic. They gather together as a band and putt on a hell of a performance.
Please don’t forget to get your tickets to the Reno Punk Rock Flea Market. Really, as your spiritual advisor, I recommend following that link (and this link) and buying the 2-day pass for $8 – it’s a great deal. And if you like what we do, please visit our Patreon page and subscribe to help us keep the lights on.
Thanks For Listening.
Manchild – Child’s Play! – S11 E38
This week Nick, Ian, Dogwater Dick, and intern Mouse too (she keeps showing up!) are on the rock and roll bus. After discussing dental issues, they welcome hardcore Reno super group, and band on fire, Manchild!
Nesto, Kylo, Rosolberry and Dandlebar came in hot and tight, treating us to 5 originals and a special treat at the end.
These vets of the Reno scene have collectively played in dozens of bands before bringing together this rocking hardcore punk band that soars. Listen for their rock and roll resumes.
Chemistry on and off the field is important in a band, and these guys have it. No drama, just pure rocking angst, and passion. These dudes aren’t fresh faced twenty somethings, but you wouldn’t know it by the high energy and furious speed of the music. Manchild sweats it out.
Dandlebar, the unofficial leader lays out the recipe for being in a good working band. He’s in three and gives a hundred percent in every one. The whole band does.
They’re a humorous bunch to say the least. Kylo takes on Roselberry in very close quiz. Dandlebar and Nesto panel with us, as they have taken the quiz several times.
Manchild is our final act of 2021 (next week is our Xmas show and company party!), we want to thank all our guests this season. Also, our Patreon members! (You keep the lights on!) All of our listeners! (Shout out to longtime listener Zoey, Kylo’s girlfriend, we love you!) Happy Birthday Reverend Rory!
And Happy Birthday Marianarchy! We love you!
Sinceriously(I’m making it a word!) thanks for listening!
Down and Out in Reno Nevada – S7 E18
Hey, Reno!
Worst Little Podcast – S7 E17 – Download Link
Welcome to this weeks VERY not safe for work (or anywhere, really) episode of The Worst Little Podcast! This week we’re reflecting on awkward first porn experiences with Reno hardcore band Down and Out. Come for the gay jokes and tentacle porn and stay for the music and Nathan’s phone number. Down and Out is made up of Ian Ferriot- Vocals, Nathan Koop- Guitar\Vocals, Daryl Smith- Guitar, Colin Ferriot- Bass\Vocals, and Kyle Smith- Drums.
Down and Out just wrapped up recording their first EP and have recently played with Reno punk rock staples Reno, We Have a Problem and Jukebox Rebels in Fallon, as well as opening for Booze and Glory at Shea’s. Keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram for upcoming show dates and listen in to hear a handful of the hard rocking, anger channeling tracks that were recorded live from the recent past, just for you, loyal listeners. Thanks again to Down and Out for joining us this week. Y’all are the tits. Join us next week when we welcome Trevor Snowden to the studio for more of the weekly shenanigans you have come to expect from the dedicated professionals (lol) at Worst Little Podcast.
While you’re waiting for Down and Out to play another Reno show you should support your local music scene. As always there’s no shortage of live shows in Reno this weekend and lucky for you I’ve picked your best bets already so you don’t have to! Friday, June 16th see Viva Revenge. Prince Robot, and Slutsville share a stage at Jub Jub’s. Saturday is Reno’s biggest and best folk showcase, Loud As Folk (event link), with Six Mile Station and Cowboy Indian opening for Hellbound Glory (!!!). It’s at new bat time and a new bat venue (RIP Adam West), 2 p.m., June 17th at The Eddy. After Loud As Folk, take a short walk to The Basement for some indie jazz/rock with Raksha Paksha and Reno anthem singer Grace Hayes at 8 p.m. If you haven’t been to the Basement (in the old Post Office) this is the perfect chance to fix that!
Go do things and don’t forget to stay classy, Reno. Or stay Reno classy. You do you.
Thanks for listening!
Man the Tanks – Breathing New Life – S6 E31
Did’ja get yer turkey stuffed?
Worst Little Podcast S6 E31 – Download Link
Saving us from ourselves and a tide of grey nostril hairs, Man the Tanks storms Dogwater Studios with the new-fangled noises they call music! Cayden Linares, Jimi Bolan and Mike Messerli form up this hit squad of tight and fast musical aggression. Man the Tanks are a homegrown post-punk/hardcore band from here in Reno. I want to call them great new music, but it’s not true. They’ve been around for over a year. They’ve just not played in seedy dive bars venues I’ve frequented.
You can catch Man the Tanks soon though! On Thursday 12/7, they’ll be playing with Tounge’s Tide and Alec Moore at Rockbar. These guys are legit and it’ll be a great way to start off Marianarchy Weekend, which is going down at Jub Jubs on Dec 9-10, a Benefit for “Greatful Ted Zepplin”. It’s a great weekend for helping, because on 12/10, the new (and last) Sil Shoda CD/DVD release is a benefit for the MS Society too! It’s a big damned weekend! More about that next week.

No, not Richards, but Dicks!

The Worst Little Podcast – Season 5 Episode 21
It’s good to be back! It’s good to see ya my friends! A lot of stuff going on in the Worst Little world. You’ll get a big earful out of Dogwater Dick about his ga-mping right at the top of the show. But enough about him! We are lucky enough to have spent a sweaty, filthy and immoral hour with the boys from the scattering, a hardcore/metal band from Reno NV that has been playing shows for about a year. Jim, John, Josh, Jason and … Brian… make up the band and they are pretty monstrous – heavy stuff. If you want to know what I really think of their recorded music, you can check out the review here: http://issuu.com/renotahoetonight/docs/rtt_aug_2015_digital_v2/7.
You can also take a listen to the scattering here: https://thescattering.bandcamp.com/releases. It’s brutal. It will make you rethink your life choices.
If you are looking for plans this weekend please join Reverend Rory and Nick down at the old Jub Jub’s this Saturday 8/22/15. From 6- Midnight, we will be supporting the troops through Sci-fi! The 1701st Fleet, a Star Trek fan service organization, puts on a regular benefit for the USO and they have brought their show to Reno. Hosted by Rev Rory, the show will feature such musical and comedic luminaries as: Nick Ramirez, John and John, Abandon Minds, Elgin Alway, Seasons of Insanity, Drake Nelson, Sit Kitty Sit, Pat Schillito and Reno We Have A Problem. It’s going to be a lot of fun and a good cause. Come on by!
Thanks for listening!
Victims of the Cave – Hardcore Tapeworm – S5 E1

“I am NOT retarded!” and do NOT have a tapeworm!
The Worst Little Podcast – S5 E1 <– Download Link
Welcome to the next level, superfans!! It’s the start of a whole new season! Connor Martin, Gary Day, Gabe Day, John Bigby and Tyrus Legg from Victims of the Cave invade Dogwater Studios in its final days and blast through a great podcast with the guys. Everyone but Rev. Rory – who legit had the flu and is still sick RIGHT NOW as he laboriously types this up.
Largely a bunch of Reno boys, this metal band has been active in the Reno/Sparks metal and hardcore scene for a few years and are getting a lot of great exposure and some following – that will change as soon as this episode leaks, but good luck to ’em anyway! Thoughtful and polite, they are fine upstanding citizens This bunch of foulmouthed motherfuckers were a lot of fun to talk to. How do I know this? because I actually listened to the whole show! That’s how I know Gary broke the Namaste Meter and Chewie was fucking with my sound effects and doing them all wrong!
I’m still sick, like I said and am totally over this. But I do love you all. Check out Victims of the Cave if you are into the METAL BANDS! Because they are Metal As Fuck, representin’ Reno NV
Thanks for Listening!
Undenied – Curtain Call – S3 E36
/
Off tha’ hook!
Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S3 E33
This week, we’d like to introduce to you the unleashed power of Undenied, a metal band here in Reno. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control and up to the whim of the Norse gods of old, this has turned out to be Undenied’s final performance! EXCLUSIVELY from the Worst Little Podcast in the World at Dogwater Studios. Almost three full seasons in and we STILL bring you exclusive crap every week!
But that’s what we do here at the Worst Little Podcast – we document Reno’s music and bands before they have a chance to break up and fade into ignominy! It happens, and we wish Casey, Fester, Cameron, Dee and Ace nothing but the best in their future endeavors and facemelting!!! These guys are pretty talented, so it won’t surprise me to see them forming other bands or getting snapped up by existing ones. When it comes to bands that entertain us, Undenied is in the winners circles. Lots of fucked up lauchs on the show, including a water sports story. Yes. That’s exactly what I mean. We even have video proof of this wacky tale of hi-jinks gone absolutely right! Just look below:
Wasn’t that fun??? *shudder* Thanks, Undenied! Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!
Thanks for Listening!
**Full Length Double Episode** Too Tall Tom and His Reno Rockstar Rarities – Side A – S1 E33
/
The Worst Little Podcast – Episode 33 (SIDE A)
Hold on people – this is a long ride! We had to split this up into TWO episodes, ’cause it wouldn’t upload gooder enough.
We are so flipping lucky!!!! Tom Gordon of Imirage Sound Lab was hanging out with Nick at Burning Man when they hatched a plot for Tom to come into Dogwater Studios and share with us a whole CD of previously unreleased tracks by a variety of bands. Maybe Buring Man isn’t so bad after all…. nah. It’s still totally lame.
I don’t want to waste a lot of time on this blog post, because you have some serious listening to do – THREE HOURS of listening. I am not even kidding. It was a real treat to talk to Tom about his experiences recording at Granny’s Recording Studio during the 90’s. Lots of famous people visited that world-class facility over the years; but a lot of local bands recorded there as well. Tom brought us a lot of exclusive content that never saw the light of day, including songs from Psychobabble, Source, Convicted Innocence, Fall Silent, The Atomiks and more!!! Some are alternate versions, some never got released because the band broke up and some were seriously never meant for public consumption. There’s even some R&B and Gospel on there – also Worst Little Podcast firsts.
Between the wizards, muggles, microphones, harmonics, the JDRF, Reno hardcore and backstage heartbreaks, we barely got to the songs! We actually didn’t even get to everything Tom brought this time, and he hasn’t even dipped into the current century! Automatic repeat booking. We hope you enjoy this show. It’s a lot of music and really long. It truly was a treat to have Tom share these experiences with us.
Thanks for listening!!!
