The Grimtones – So There Were These Bears – S8 E8
S8 E10
Welcome to the Worst Little Podcast. We’re live from the recent, snowy past this week for our third installment of our Women’s March shows with The Grimtones! For the first time ever our awesome intern Shrek got to hang out in studio A with Nick and Kim! Congrats on making it across the hallway, Shrek! This week we’re asking important questions like: are you still friends with her and is she going to listen to this podcast? Tune in for fat, sweaty, German brats, botched circumcisions, and punk rock battle wounds (RIP, Alise’s ankle). But MOST IMPORTANTLY, there’s some badass music from one of Reno’s strongest lady musicians.
The Grimtones spend their days cookin’ hot dogs, snorting kool-aid, fumblin’ about on yee plotter, and recording music. You can see Michelle, Carter, and young Nick, March 31st at Shea’s. They’re currently hard at work recording their new album at Dogwater Studios.
Thanks for the clap, Carter, and thanks to the Grimtones for being such excellent guests! Next week we have guest host Mikey Ramirez from The Shames joining us to interview Rachel McElhiney of Failure Machine and Alise Corbin of SWIGS for our final week of Women’s March shows!
Go see a couple of shows this weekend! Here’s Kim’s picks:
Friday – Acid Teeth // ManifeStatioN // Infecto Skeletons // Grimedog at Sheas. 8PM 21+
Sunday – Moon Hooch w/ The Accidentals & Six Mile Station at The Saint. 8PM 21+
Beyond – Stay tuned for updates about Grem Fest and the 14th Marianarchy!
Thanks for listening to another week of us getting drunk with our friends and thanks to Shrek for being hilarious. Life is short and we love ya, Reno.

This week we have Johnny Harpo from Rigorous Proof back in the studio. Johnny sat down with us to discuss the state of Reno’s music scene (spoilers – Reno is killing it), the happenings at The Saint, and to play some original, never recorded tunes. You can hear the bands single, AK47 on 100.1 The X and NV89 Radio, and here right now!
Every Wednesday night you can catch Johnny hosting Music Industry Night at St. James Infirmary where he plays local music all night. Get your records in his hands, drink some St. James beer, and support your industry night.
Johnny Harpo – guitar/vocals for Rigorous Proof
Mother’s Day weekend, May 12th through 14th, is going to be BIG for local music. See Johnny with Rigorous Proof May 12th at GremFest and at Sculpture Fest Saturday, May 13th at 7:30. Marianarchy, a benefit for Hank Sosnowski, is May 12th and 13th. Lineups have been announced and can be found on the official Facebook Event page. Special shout out to Jub Jub’s for hosting Marianarchy. Check out their weekly Wednesday karaoke night hosted by DJ Chapin for a weird time.
Thanks for supporting your local music scene and, as always, thanks for listening!
