This week we discuss special needs classrooms and fundraising for them by rocking out.

WHAT: A benefit to raise funds for special needs classrooms, caregivers, teachers, and other angel helpers.

WHEN: 5/30/26 Doors @ 4:30 / Entertainment starts @ 5pm

WHERE: Shims Tavern! 125 W 3rd St RENO (21+ Event)

HOW: Bands, friends, and family are getting together to put on a show to benefit the special needs community. We want to support this community in creative and artsy ways. Nick and Mikie have a daughter with Autism who attends a special education classroom in Reno. She has an excellent teacher and aids who assist in her classroom. We want to encourage donating funds to Washoe County (Strategies) classrooms, with no strings, no questions asked. This is to help teachers purchase whatever they feel is needed in the classrooms. The goal is to send $500 to 3+ classrooms, as well as collect and raise funds for quality self-care gift cards (hair-cuts, massages, mani-pedi, spa day) to give to caregivers, teachers, and other angel helpers. We want to say thank you and help prevent burnout! We are in this together and appreciate all who help our special kids!

HOW YOU CAN HELP: We are looking for RAFFLE donations of any kind. We are asking for self-care gift certificate ideas (hair-cuts, massages, mani-pedi, spa day). Do you know of a place that may donate? Can you tell us or ask them? We are putting together a team of friends who want to volunteer their time to ask for raffle and gift certificates. We would love to team up!

Do you know of a caregivers, teachers, or another helper that deserves a thank you? Please let us know, we are compiling a list of folks we want to gift these items to.

This week we get ready for Halloween! It’s our guests Glitter Bats third time as our Halloween episode musical act and we’re quite delighted!

Freddie heads up the group as singer and songwriter, with a super strong gorgeous voice,joined by Rip Von Shred Master Chris on guitar, heavy metal warrior young Jared also on guitar, low tones and fuzz by Keith on bass, cherry on top Jon with the keyboard and our own WLP host, Nick on drums. Always challenging themselves and constantly progressing, the Bats are getting tight as a band and as friends. 

They’ve released 6 singles since we last saw them with a couple more on the way. They plan a full album release sometime next year. However, this year they came to Dogwater Studios with a bunch of cool covers from bands like The Church, The Sonics, Concrete Blonde and more! 

The band catch up a little, discuss many topics including scary movies, childhood costumes, and cult comparisons! 

We had a blast with the everyday is Halloween rockers and hope you catch them play a special set including a mini set from Misfits tribute band Candyapple & the Razorblades with sci fi horror punks Hired Fun and stoner doom metal thrashers Burning Harvest this Friday 10/31 at the Cellar Stage at Alturas in Reno. Cash prizes for best costumes. It’s sure to be a glam slam hauntingly sexy, spooky good time.

This one’s for all you lovers out there. Enter Candy all dolled up donning skull face make up and ripping the vocals. With seasoned blues man Chris on guitar. The man who totally loves fun, cool Keith on bass. On second guitar; the shredder young Jared, and drumming the heartbeat of the band, hailing from the SF bay, the fresh new guy Kellen…. and they are Candy Apples and the Razorblades performing the romantic stylings of the Misfits for our sexy Valentine’s Day edition of the Worst Little Podcast!

We love you and on our 581st episode we have a hot date with the tight tribute to Danzig era Misfits and our dear friends and mostly vets to the show, however drummer Kellen is a WLP virgin! Candy has been on once and never took the quiz. Same with Jared. So we have a beautiful three way competition whilst Chris and Keith join in on asking questions. A hilarious bonding experience, just what a lovely Valentines show needs. Candy impressed us with her powerful singing voice that contrasts her conversation voice in a truly remarkable way.  She’s a total sweetheart.
