Gina Rose – Sad Songs Make Me Feel Better – S9 E29
Hello and Welcome to the Worst Little Podcast! Kim, Nick, Dogwater Dick *and* our favorite Production Assistant, Ian, are in the studio this week with the lovely Gina Rose! There’s also a surprise guest with us this week who we NEVER thought we’d get on the show. Press play to find out who it is!
Gina Rose is a singer-songwriter from Reno, Nevada. She’s been described as young, warm, and wise with a knack for writing melancholic and memorable tunes. I’d say that’s all true. Gina’s next show is at Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City, October 17th, for a special edition of Loud As Folk. Also playing Piper’s are friends of the show Outlaw Kindred, So Sol, Huckleberry Road, and Greg Gilmore. Thanks to Gina and Andrew for being on the show. We had a blast!
Next week we’re back with Eddie and the Subtitles! Thanks for listening!

Almond Mocha Poetry – Confessions – S8 E7
/
S8 E9
Hello again, and welcome to the Worst Little Podcast in the world! This week Almond Mocha Music and poet extraordinaire, Elisa Garcia joined us on the show. Listen up as Kim, Kelly, and Elisa take over Dogwater Studios (RV, Rory, Nick, and Dogwater Dick are here too). We’re steering the ship now, and we’ve got beer. Look out. We’ve got Rory’s shitty old poems, Almond Mocha’s sexy chill vibes, and sexy raindrops galore for the lovely Elisa.
Almond Mocha Music is RV, aka Motorhome Music, and Kelly Proud. They describe themselves as fun, exciting, dancey enough to get your feet tapping but still appropriately layers over conversation on a long drive or over a cup of coffee. This new musical journey between these two musicians is a wonderful departure from the norm. Stitch and @motorhomemusic shatter musical expectations with their collaboration, Almond Mocha. Described as “uplifting” and “hopeful music” this step outside of either of their creative norms produces a sound consistently compared to The Postal Service, The Album Leaf and Massive Attack.
Reno’s slam queen, Elisa, works with the Holland Project producing weekly all ages open poetry nights and produces the quarterly adult themed poetry night, LIT at Night. See the next installment of LIT at Night April 21st at Headquarters Bar.
This weekend is St. Patrick’s day, and as always there’s no shortage of places to get drunk live music to see in Reno. Here’s Kim’s picks:
Friday – Silver | Rigorous Proof at Shea’s let’s get Sheasted. 9PM 21+ $5/8

Our guest this week is Reno Jackson 5 cover band experimental, psychedelic alt-rock band, Blacklisted. Established in 2015, Blacklisted is what happens when you form a band while on drugs (calm down, it’s legal now!). The band is busy writing new music and is planning on a spate of February and March shows.
Many thanks to Blacklisted for gracing our studio for this weeks show. Next week we have the elusive and mysterious Bat Country as our musical guest. Rory and Kim will be back and Kim will be sharing some exciting details about the first ever Reno Punk Rock Flea Market.

Gina Rose and Pat Meet The Worst Little Podcast – S7 E25
/
S7 E25
Hello and welcome to this weeks episode of the Worst Little Podcast, broadcast from high above the city of Reno fucking Nevada!
Nick, Chewy, Rick and myself, Kadillac Kim, are here to bring you this week’s podcast! Regretfully (for him), the Reverend Rory Dowd is not around this week, but we get plenty of shots in at his expense! This week, as always, we have something really special for our listeners. We have not one, but TWO talented guests in the studio for your listening pleasure. And let me tell you, we talked about pleasure (*winknod*). But really, we have at least one and a half freaks in the room tonight. We’re talking about rope bondage, secret middle names, and how I got the name Kadillac Kim. Spoilers, it was in the parking lot of the Bunny Ranch when I was cornered by strippers in the bathroom of a double wide trailer. So that’s a thing… ANYWAY! We get off on the right foot with Reno country/Americana darling, Gina Rose. Gina will leave you with goosebumps after her first song. Don’t go anywhere or you’ll regret not hearing everything she has to say and sing!
Gina Rose is a singer-songwriter based out of Reno, Nevada. She formed her first band three years ago and has been playing guitar and writing music since she was a youngster (8years old!!). She began her music career opening for punk bands in Reno basements. Despite being a folk singer she won audiences over, with fans telling her that she’s just as heavy as the punk bands she opened for. As Nick points out, though, punk is just outlaw rock & roll and Gina is outlaw country. Her music can be found on her Bandcamp page and she has a new album in the works. She has a show coming up in Virginia City, like her on Facebook to be notified when the event is posted. Do yourselves a favor and don’t miss it or any of her shows! On behalf of the Worst little podcast, thank you miss Gina Rose for your time, some great conversation, and for the bone chilling tunes. You’re going places .
Also in the studio this week is Pat Shillito, local emcee and comedian who has worked at the Laugh Factory (formerly Catch a Rising Star) at the Silver Legacy. Pat also hosts open mic comedy nights all over Reno. Listen to Pat’s quick and dry wit as he discusses the major things going on in the Reno comedy scene.
Until next time, here are my picks for how to spend the next week in Reno!
