Weapons of Mass Creation – Repeat Offenders, Top Contenders – S10 E30
You can’t keep a good band down and no Reno band epitomizes that made-up saying better than our guests this week, Weapons of Mass Creation. You can’t call it a comeback, because they’ve been here for many years (you can’t call it a plagarism, because it’s altered a bit.).

We get to talk to them about the ever-ongoing next album, getting closer and closer to completion. We start the musical segments of the show, with a special look at Joe Atack’s solo project. Pan clues us into what he’s been up to as Reno’s current poet laureate (you can catch monthly him at Sierra Arts in the historic downtown Artists’ Lofts). We also get an update on many things theater, including Good Luck MacBeth, GhostLight TV and Dancers and Bands (featuring One Ton Dually and Fanci Valle on the most recent episode)
It’s a good fun show. Stay safe and fight the power.
Thanks for listening.
Grimedog – The Sexual Revolution – S10 E29
The tension is always palpable when this trio gets together. Online, over Zoom, it was no different. Sploosh.

Once again, we are happy to welcome Grimedog to the Worst Little Podcast studio! They are always a blast with bigger than life stories of bad decisions and rural Nevada. Joining WOlfman and Lucas is new/old member Ben! Listen to the show to find out more.

They were also a featured performer at this past weekend benefit (covered on last week’s podcast) – fighting the good fight and helping #spreadthesparkle. The songs on the podcast made their debut this weekend at the event.

Momo Promo and The Shades of Queening – S10 E28
This weekend, Worst Little Podcast and Marianarchy Reno are proud to be co-hosts of an event organized by our good friend, Momo Mendoza of Momo Promo. The event is a Virtual Fundraiser for Shades of Queening, an advocacy and support resource for women of color in Reno.

Reno is a transient town and not nearly as diverse as other urban and cultural centers; the support systems that might exist elsewhere, based on family and community, especially for women of color, are not as strong as they should be in this community. Shades of Queening attempts to encourage and facilitate those networks and community development in a rapidly changing Reno.
Worst Little Podcast and Marianarchy Reno are honored to have been included in the hosts of this event which also include Momo Promo, Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor, Grave Yard Shift Productions, Reno Pyrate Punx Chapter 21 , Loud As Folk, Alexandr Entertainment, and Hannah Chamber Productions.
The entertainment will include video (edited by Quinton Bunk) from:
Sad Giants, Lysteria775, Jill Marlene and Gabe of Wheatstone Bridge, Vague Choir, Jm LAce, Hired Fun, Terrell Street, Ummm Jr, Nordic Daughter, Knife Fight, Spike McGuire, Tommy and The Tongues, Grimedog, sCHIZoPOLITANs, JUST-IN Beaver, Donkey Jaw, Nick Ramirez, Heterophobia, Skitz Bebo, Christopher Chamberlain-Nonan, Pink Awful, The Sonic Dead, AL1CE, 7-Out, and Luke Wynn
We are still accepting donations for the auction, so please hit up Momo Promo on FB
Unfortunately, due to scheduling errors at the last minute, we were unable to record a show with Momo and Shades of Queening, so this week’s episode is a rerun of the Schizopolitan’s 2018 appearance on the show.

Pierre Marche – Out On His Own – S10 E27
Week 21 of the pandemic and we still don’t know what we are doing, but we’ve got great guests! This week, Reno punk rock legend, Pierre Marche (Screeching Weasel, Engine Fire, SuckaPunch), and erstwhile sidekick, Chris Fox (Vampirates, Boss’ Daughter, Voted Best Band), tune into the the Zoom Room with us to talk about the craft, Pierre’s new album and the changing times.

Pierre’s most recent project is “An Autumn Afternoon”, a second collection of solo tunes. Recorded at Pus Cavern in Sacramento, Marche collaborated extensively with Chris Fox. They go in some detail about how that process works for them, from inspiration to tracking.

Johnno The Rhino – Off-Topic and Unfiltered – S10 E24
Buckle up this week, kids – it’s a wild ride!

Once again, we are happy to welcome past sonsor and longtime friend of the show, Johnno the Rhino, international DJ and local business owner at Reno Carson Messenger Service. Johnno regales us with tales from abroad during the pandemic, including one of the last music festivals – BAZIQUE! – held before the world wen on lockdown in March, in South Africa. The tracks this week are live recordings of his set that night.

We don’t have much control over this episode. Johnno is a ‘fire and forget’ kind of guest. He was cracking us up before we started rolling tape. It’s wild and unhinged and hilarious and honest and fun.
Johnno is also still working the Golden Gate Project and figuring out ways to change lives hearts and minds, starting with bringing music the kids in hospitals. Head over to the website and check it out. It’s really wonderful

Thanks for listening!
Steve Funk – Dude Abides – S10 E23
Welcome, Contestants! Thanks for joining us once again. If you haven’t noticed, the COVID crisis has had an effect on the show – namely, they are late and much less verbose. We normally tried to get shows out before the weekend, to help promote the venues and live happenings. As that is much less of a priority these days, we are now going to just be publishing the shows on Mondays. There’s been shifts in all of our lives and it’s really much simpler to publish them on Monday. AND I promise to do my best to have something to say, even if it’s nonsensical, even if I’m feeling run-down and not up to it. (I hope somebody reads these. It’s the closest I’ve got to legitimate writing publication in the last 5 years.) Anywhoo….

Joining us this week is a voice any Renoite knows from infancy: the talented and gregarious Godfather of Reno Rock, Mr. Steve Funk. Steve took some time out of his busy travel schedule to stop in and- just kidding, It’s another Zoom Room show!! We did have a blast talking to Steve about his experiences in radio and music in Reno over the last few decades. The only problem was – not enough time!!! We had to force ourselves to stop talking so we could listen to the songs! (ok- like the pro he is, Steve Funk drove the bus for Rev. Rory and showed him how it’s done, even with a busted Winnebago like this show. Don’t worry, we’ll have him back)
Additionally, Steve brings us a sampling of his own original music over the years, including a little ditty about Reno that you’ll just have to listen to hear more about.
Stay safe. Wear your damn mask. “Don’t trust Whitey.”
Thanks for listening
