We return this week with our continuing celebration of rad women doing cool stuff! We are joined by acoustic singer songwriter Kasey Christensen with Liam Kyle Cahill and Reno Poet Laureate Elisa Garcia.
We catch up with Kasey and Liam, a musical power couple hosting open mics, recording new albums and playing shows all over the country. Their music is sweet and thoughtful. Reflections on the human condition and stories from their lives. Smart, experienced and open to exploring both music and the world, the most endearing quality they share and exemplify is authenticity. They aren’t making music to please anyone but themselves and that’s why it’s pleasing. It’s real.
That is who Elisa is as well. Her poems are insight into which she’s been, is and even who she’s aspired to be. Being awarded the Reno Poet Laureate title is proof of her hard work on her thoughtful writing, consistently putting herself out there and a genuine connection to her audience.
We find out what it means and what life is like being the Reno poet laureate. We get to hear a couple of poems as well.
