Out with the old and in with the new!
The Worst Little Podcast – S4 E11 Download Link
Hey boys and girls! Do you like music? Yes? Do you like punk rock music? Yes? That’s awesome! We just happen to have a young pop punk band from Reno NV, Fighting the Future, on the show this week! They sing and scream about all the FUN angst and SUPER EXCITING crushing disappointment in their lives!!! Isn’t that just the best?
We had a truly fun time with Dylan Fuson (guitar and vocals), Austin Aguera (guitar and vocals), Craig Schrader (drums) and Rachel Barr (bass and vocals) from Fighting the Future. They have been getting around town for the better part of the year in this lineup and are looking forward to a EP release show coming up on May 2nd.
The guys are doing about the same. Nothing shocking to report yet, but Marianarchy X is on its way, so stay tuned for details.

Bohemian Burlesque – So Good to Be Bad – S4 E10

Va-va-va-voom!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E10
Why don’tcha sit down and listen to us sometime? It’s a very sexy show in store for you this week – Nicole Rose and Teresa Moiola come by to wile us with their womanly charms. And we let them! Quite happily! As much of a pleasure to talk to as to look at, Nikki and Teresa are starring members of Bohemian Burlesque, the oldest nouveau burlesque troupe in Reno. Innuendo is the name of the game… and sounds like buttsex, so, yeah! Win!
Nikki is also going to be the emcee of the upcoming Bohemian Burlesque show, Femme Fatale, on APril 25th and 26th at The Studio on Fourth. As a ‘teaser’, she sings “Special” from Avenue Q, an adults-only Sesame Street-style musical. It…. made the Reverend’s pants too tight room very warm.
Speaking of Music, we also feature some tracks from Daryl Lee Thompson, a long-time Reno musician now living in Portland and touring the Pacific Northwest on a regular basis. Daryl Lee is OOOOOOOooode Skoool Reno and collectively one of our favorite musicians, hands down. However, an enormous portion of the show is devoted to Uncle Rickey’s Story Time! Wherupon, Dogwater Dick claims to have found a glory hole near the top of Rattlesnake Mountain. Reverend Rory went along with it, because he trust Dogwater Dick, even when he lies, but after seeing the picture – isn’t too sure. Judge for yourself. Reverend Rory predicts we will spend an inordinate amount of time next week discussing this.
It’s a lot of fun this week! Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for listening!
My Acoustic Heart and the Great Communicator – S4 E9

Strap in, folks!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E9
April showers bring WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING TO THE WEATHER? Hope you’re enjoying early spring here in the Washoe Valley area. I’m not.
What I am enjoying is having gotten to meet and hang out with Josh Ortiz of My Acoustic Heart on this latest episode! Ortiz is a quickly rising name in the Reno singer-songwriter community and a giant dork really swell guy. Unfortunately he was warned about the quiz by former friend of the show, Josiah Knight (who will NOT be appearing with us anytime soon). Ortiz is most of My Acoustic Heart, having come on the show without telling his sometimes partner, Greg, because he’s a diva. He’s also got one hell of a set of pipes!
Also on the show, bringing the kind of crazy energy that only he can is Darin Honorof, the Great Communicator as dubbed by Dogeater Dick. 100 points if you can follow his conversation; a bonus 1000 points if you can explain it to us in a letter. He really injects his own way of looking at the world and infects us all with it.
Thanks for listening!
Hella Acapella – A Very Purple Farewell – S4 E8

Auf Wiedersehen and goodbye…
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E8
It is with heavy heart that I write to you this week. At first I was all like “Hell yeah! Hella Acapella is on the show!!!” But then I was all like “Awwww…It’s the last Hella Acapella show (featuring our good friend Chas Dawes)”. Yes, it’s true, bass singer and LMT, Chas Dawes is leaving fair Reno, NV for the happier shores of Hawaii – where he is getting hooked up like a mofo! We are sad to see him go, but happy for his good fortune.
We spend a lot of time talking about the previous week’s Chazapalooza at Jub Jub’s where the whole gang came out to say goodbye. It was one hell of a party with lots of great performances and some surprise performers! Hella Acapella had a GREAT set and left an indelible memory on everyone there, just like the way Chas has with everyone whose life he has graced.
I’d also like to take a brief moment to congratulate Mrs. and Mr. Jessica and Todd Imus who were joined in wedlock this weekend by none other than Rev. Rory Dowd himself. It was a very special day to be a part of and he was honored to have been included. May their marriage last as long as, like, forever and shit.
While I’m here – another quick plug for Reno open mics. There is one just about every day of the week – you have no idea of how lucky we are in that. One of the newest is going through a bit of a change. Starting Tuesday, April 1 (not a joke) Foxy Olive will be host to “Trashtalk and Trashrock” – an evening of poetry and rekkids. Sign ups start at 7, spoken word starts at 8 and garage rock and roll starts at 10. Hosted by Thee Reverend Rory Dowd and a cast of other fun performers, it’s going to change the face of Tuesdays in Reno!
So, that’s the cue for my line:
I’ve got nothin’ else. Thanks for listening!
We’d also like to take
Whoops – Episode Missing
Hey folks,
We weren’t able to record this week due a rather unfortunate case of fail. Dogwater Dick was beat up by old ladies while at work and Reverend Rory couldn’t find his pants. We had a great show lined up – and duly apologize to our guests, Jenny Oxier and Meredith Tanzer of Salon 7’s 10th annual White Party and local vocalist, Micheal Jackson. We’ll try to get them back another time.
Just so you know, the 10th annual White Party Fundraiser will be happening at Salon 7 once again this year. There will be fashion, music, dancing and hawt people! Once again your Renofamous celebrity concierges will be the fabulously filthy jenny Pezdespencer and myself. All door proceeds benefit Build Our Center, a great local family friendly group. The White Party at Salon 7 will be on April 5. Chekkout the bump.
Also not on the show is comedian Justin Rupple. Once again he will be gracing the hallowed halls of the Reno Tahoe Comedy Club inside the Pioneer Underground this weekend. “Men: Explained” is the name of the show and you can catch it on Friday 3/21 at 8:30 pm and Saturday 3/22 at 6:30pm and 9:30 pm.
That’s all – catch you nest week with the farewell show of Hella Acapella.
Aversion Therapy – Throw the Script Out – S4 E7

Ahoy, landlubbers!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E7
Back from the beginning! Aversion Therapy returns to the show after the mildly WILDLY successful release of their latest CD, Snake Oil. In addition to the regular yokels of Evan Humphries, Henry King and Bruce Gonyea, we get to meet new lead guitar, Denis “The Replacement” Phares! He’ll do, as long as he doesn’t fuck up.
If you haven’t caught them before, Aversion Therapy is a punk rock/spoof rock band from Reno NV. They are friends of the show and early patrons of the Dogwater Studios! They leave a legacy of witty lyrics and socio-local commentary in their wake. THis week, they play a bunch of their new tracks from the album.
blah blah blah Aversion Therapy is cool blah blah blah gay joke here blah blah blah no one ever reads this far anyway (and if you are – comment on facebook or the web-page dammit. I’ll read your comments about Aversion Therapy or The Worst Little Podcast on the show next week)
That’s it for now! Check out the Liver Scars Video Show at Shea’s on Friday!
Thanks for listening!
Gabe Hilton – Slow Explosion – S4 E5

New set coming up!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E5
Hello, boys and girls! We hope you’ve been behaving yourselves this week (mostly). Up next on the show, we have Gabe Hilton, an up and coming Reno musician and songwriter. Born and bred in this City of Trembling Leaves, Gabe has grown up around the Reno art and music scene. He’s also NOT a tweaker, loser or asshole – go figure! He’s actually an accomplished young performer, having been a driving force behind the recent staging of The Tribute to the Hazards of Love and the lead vocalist in the same.
Hilton is next set to appear this weekend at the Knitting Factory for the first time at the Night of Acoustic Appreciation on Saturday, March 1st. How about that? People spend years, decades even, humping their ass to get a little notice around town, in the hopes of getting onto a big stage; this little shit puts on a show and plays at a couple open mics and get son the bill! Hopefully he’s talented enough to hang with the likes of Myke Read, Mason Frey, The Westside Digs, Estebo Estes, My Acoustic Heart, Adam Springob , Whitebulbs and Jenera Paxton.
Despite no Chewie this week, we have a fun show with Gabe Hilton! We’ve all had pretty exciting weeks – Reverend Rory’s been dating someone; Rick has an upcoming date and Nick is still happy in love (despite evidence to the contrary above or anywhere else). It’s a fun time with a mix of covers and originals by Hilton. Check him out on Saturday at the Knit and an upcoming show on the 6th (details inside!)
Thanks for listening!!!
Hella Fitzgerald – Swing in Your Step – S4 E4

Happy Day, campers!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E4
Welcome aboard Worst Little Airlines. Just sit back, relax and trust your fine pilots for the smoothest podcast you’ve ever heard… Now that you’re finished laughing, please enjoy the in-flight entertainment!
We bring you Hella Fitzgerald! Songbird Lily Baran and ivory tickler Tristan Selzler throw down a little session at the studio this week. Performing intermittently around town for the last few years, Hella Fitzgerald is a Reno jazz combo that coalesces out of strains of melodies in the air whenever they are needed.
These fine performers flip Dogwater Dick’s lid – you can nearly hear him peeing his pants after their first song. They throw down a selection of jazz standards and modern transpositions, a little change of pace for us. Once again -WLP bringing you exciting new content every week!
In addition to Hella Fitzgerald, Baran and Selzler are busy folk. Selzler sits in and regularly performs at clubs and bars around Reno with different jazz combos. Baran is a major part of the operations at Tahoe Players, a performing arts facility for young people in Incline Village that regularly entertains audiences around the Reno/Tahoe area.
Also – go visit Reno Computer Fix. Cause I said so.
Thanks for listening!
The Dilworths – Changing of the Guard – S4 E3

Aaaaaand we’re back.
The Worst Little Podcast – 2014 02 10
Lots to talk about on the show this week! Besides promoting the final show of the Tribute to The Hazards of Love, we get a chance to talk with our first father and son guests at Dogwater. Friend of the show, James Dilworth stops by again with a bag of tricks and a bunch of new projects including upcoming films and a book of collected works! James is also heavily involved with NadaGras, an offshoot of the world-famous Nada Dada motel art show that started in Reno, that you can catch at the Morris Burner Hotel, March 7-9.
This time, James is also accompanied by his father, Jim Dilworth, a long-time Reno musician. After working the casino circuit for years, Jim has also made a go playing traditional Irish folk music in taverns and watering holes around Reno, especially for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Father and son team up to play for us some traditional jigs and ballads.
We also field a phone call from comedian Jym Bettencourt who will be appearing the weekend at the Knitting Factory woth a host of local comedians. Jym is always strange and exciting to talk to and delivers some laughs as ususal. Exciting weekend ahead, including the Skate Jam at Jub jub’s and Burn it or Buy it at the Generator and Empress Xelena’s Erotic Mentalist show at Wildflower Village. Get out and see something neat!!!
Thanks for Listening!!!
BLC Clothing – Putting the ‘Ta-ta’ in ‘Ta-ta-tacky’ – S4 E2

Gimme some good stuff!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – 2014 02 03
We always strive to mix it up on the show, keep you on your toes. This week, we’ve got BLC Clothing in the studio! Shawn Harroun and Mike Weber are the brains and the brawn (not respectively) behind the Reno-based clothing line. In operation for just over a year, BLC clothing designs and sells lines of hoodies, men’s and women’s T-shirts, stickers and sexy, sexy underwear. Custom work is up their alley too.
Harroun and Weber also have their fingers in a bunch of pots, not just BLC Clothing. Weber is also a muckety-muck over at Weber Graphics, a family owned screen printing company in Reno/Sparks. Harroun, in addition to hawking T-shirts, slings drinks down at Third Street bar and has been known to spin a turntable or two. We have a lot of fun chatting with them around the table, and even have a spirited edition of The Worst Little Quiz.
Weber also plays in Death By Society, a Reno-based band. Unfortunately, his band mates could not make it. So it all came down to Harroun, who came through with some beats composed by friends of his. Oh, yeah – there’s the kicker: we got DJ music this week, for all the EDM fans in internetland. Check out the tasty treats from dBot, Miss Haynes and 6Blocc throughout the show.
Thanks again to BLC Clothing for being on the show.
One last reminder – A Tribute to “The Hazards of Love” opens at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor this weekend, February 7-9 & 14. Tickets are still available in advance for $12 at The Melting Pot, Prism Magic and Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor; $15 at the door. A magical tale of innocence, love, villany, passion and betrayal with music and movements performed by a cast of Reno musicians, actors, singers and dancers, this show has a very short run of only four performances. A live staging of the Decemberists’ album, the Tribute to “The Hazards of Love” is a one-of-a-kind performance and a credit to Reno theater. You don’t want to miss it! All shows at 7:30PM, except for the Sunday matinee at 2PM.
Thanks for listening!
