Big thanks from the folks at the Flea, including yours truly, Kadillac Kim, to Faith and Dave at Jub Jub’s for hosting the RPRFM after party, and Rory at Dead Ringer Analog Bar for hosting our kick off party and for contributing to the ongoing success of our punk scene. I talk to a lot of touring bands and they all love coming to Reno. That’s because of the people who run the venues and the people who consistently come out and support shows. Y’all are the real MVP’s.
Thank you for listening and happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at the Worst Little Podcast. If you like what we do please click through to our Patreon and throw a few bucks Rick’s way. We will continue to record and archive Reno music for free forever, but we would love your help doing it. Show some love to Dogwater Dick and Dogwater Studios! We’re back next week with local metal band Condemned Existence!
Bryan Jones – The Numerology of Buffalo Moses – S8 E42

S9 E2 – Ice and snow be damned! Nothing stops the podcast, especially not when we have a guest like Bryan Jones to grace the studio. To catch you up to speed, Bryan is a seasoned Reno musician, notably with Buster Blue, but consistently with his own solo work, including his current project, Buffalo Moses. After a brief sojourn in the far off hinterlands of… Seattle, Jones returns to Reno to really sabotage launch his career by making an appearance on our show.

The conversation swings about wildly as we relentlessly pepper Jones with questions, often simultaneously. He calmly answers most of our questions, with the patience of a weary teacher dealing with unruly children. The music, of course, is top-notch – including some brand-new WLP EXCLUSIVE tracks.

In other Reno news, don’t forget to check out the Reno Punk Rock Flea Market this weekend! 18 bands, dozens of local DIY vendors, a children’s corner, car smashing and more! If you missed it last year and spent the year rolling your eyes while you listened to everyone else talk about how rad it was, DON’T DO THAT AGAIN! It’s as cool as we say it is – trust me!

Four Stroke Baron – S8 E 40

Hello and welcome to the Worst Little Podcast! Rory, Nick and Rick are here to bring you our last show of the season with the excellent band Four Stroke Baron. Press play!

Four Stroke Baron is Kirk Witt on guitars and vocals, Matt Vallarino on drums, and Keegan Ferrari on bass. They’re described as an energetic blend of new-wave and heavy progressive rock. From the band: Four Stroke Baron aspire to bring forth a lively and refreshing new voice. The group crafts massive and immersive soundscapes juxtaposed over catchy, pop-like song structures. It is this penchant for blending familiar sounds and styles into something altogether new that has allowed the band to undergo a dramatic metamorphosis from their humble beginnings improvising in a shed outside of Reno, Nevada, to preparing for the debut of their second full-length album, “Planet Silver Screen,” on Prosthetic Records.
Be sure to like and follow them on social media for updated tour schedules and more! Big thanks to the band for being on the show this week!

I’ll Be ‘No!’ For Christmas – S8 E38

I’ll be “No!’ for Christmas
You can plan on ‘no….’
Please have ‘No!’ and mistle-‘No!’
And ‘nooooOOOOO’ on the tree
We wish you a Merry Christmas, Goode Listeners all! 2018 has been an insane year, both for the podcast, ourselves, and beyond. Once again for a final capstone to the calendar, we rope in our families who really want to have no part of our hobby and are horrified to bring their (our) children around the show (Apologies, Mrs. Martin)
Unfortunately Rikku was swamped with homework and finals and Nick was out of town so we actually have NO musical component this week – but young Allie gives the performance of the …. week! We do get a quick little phoner with Mr. Ramirez, right before he gets to see some big hairy D in real life. I can say, with no reservations at all, that this is the most awkward – and endearing – Christmas episodes of the podcast in our entire run.

All kidding aside – our podcast is our family. All of us who work on the show are invested in each other’s lives, personally and professionally. We are more than just a cast, a production team, hosts, engineers or interns – we are a found family. We are proud and happy to share with you our lives, our friends, or music and our culture. We are proud and happy, and most importantly, honored that you take the time to listen and read every week. That tells us that you are part of our stupid found family too.

Yippie Kai-yay, to you and Hamburger James, and we wish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you Filthy Animals.
