Almond Mocha Poetry – Confessions – S8 E7

S8 E9
Hello again, and welcome to the Worst Little Podcast in the world! This week Almond Mocha Music and poet extraordinaire, Elisa Garcia joined us on the show. Listen up as Kim, Kelly, and Elisa take over Dogwater Studios (RV, Rory, Nick, and Dogwater Dick are here too). We’re steering the ship now, and we’ve got beer. Look out. We’ve got Rory’s shitty old poems, Almond Mocha’s sexy chill vibes, and sexy raindrops galore for the lovely Elisa.

Kelly Proud

One Million Pounds of Bass – RV aka Motorhome music makes his Worst Little Podcast debut.
Almond Mocha Music is RV, aka Motorhome Music, and Kelly Proud. They describe themselves as fun, exciting, dancey enough to get your feet tapping but still appropriately layers over conversation on a long drive or over a cup of coffee. This new musical journey between these two musicians is a wonderful departure from the norm. Stitch and @motorhomemusic shatter musical expectations with their collaboration, Almond Mocha. Described as “uplifting” and “hopeful music” this step outside of either of their creative norms produces a sound consistently compared to The Postal Service, The Album Leaf and Massive Attack.

Elisa “It comes out when I drink too much, so hand me another beer.” Garcia
Reno’s slam queen, Elisa, works with the Holland Project producing weekly all ages open poetry nights and produces the quarterly adult themed poetry night, LIT at Night. See the next installment of LIT at Night April 21st at Headquarters Bar.

Franc Friday – Lyrically Loquacious Life Lessons – S7 E41

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!
It’s been a loooooong break, almost as long as Ricks….. sobriety, (sure, we’ll go with that). We hope all your Christmas wishes have come true and all your New Year’s Resolutions are already broken are coming to fruition!
We are pleased to welcome to the show a true Reno bon vivant, the singular MC, Franc Friday. Two-time “Best Rapper in Northern Nevada” winner, Franc has worked the crowds in Reno for half a decade and shows no sign of holding back. His is a new kind of hip hop – lyrically aggressive, sharp electronica blended with beats.
Despite having digs all the way over on the East Coast, in NYC, he still regularly visits the RNO, recording and releasing music. His EP, “Frequent Flyer” dropped at the end of 2017 and he is already at work on his next. We have exclusive Franc Friday tracks, including something still in the mix, up early in the show. It’s hard to get to the songs though, because godDAM that boy can talk. You all think Reverend Rory is this self-absorbed force of nature that talks over everything? He was naught but a flea in the path of the Franc Train.
Also, there’s a little something Rick gets into early in the show: we now have a Patreon page! https://www.patreon.com/worstlittlepodcast That’s right – you too can be a part of the podcast without doing anything but throw a little money in our humble hat! After seven fun seasons, we are turning to you, the listening audience, for a little love. It’s not that we are likely to stop promoting Reno artists, musicians, events and venue, or refrain from archiving live tracks of as many Reno, Sparks, Carson and Northern Nevada bands as we possibly can. No! We’re suckers and love doing this for our own amusement and benefit. But, if you appreciate what we do and how we do it – you can be a part of the team! Buy the bands a beer! Get us to say your name on an episode! Name your terms – we have few boundaries and interns for when we do!
Check it out: https://www.patreon.com/worstlittlepodcast
As always, it’s good to have you hear. We have a fantastic year lined up for you so far, including a kick-ass “Women’s March” with the Month of Three being dominated with great Reno ladies; some old friends and some surprises; and of course, all the newest Reno music and events.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Thursday, 1/11 – Reno Compliment Slam at the Potentialist Workshop
Saturday, 1/13 – Basement Tapes, Vague Choir and Grimtones at The Saint
Feb – PUNK ROCK FLEA MARKET – just follow the link. It’s gonna be rad, thanks to Kadillac Kim.
Thanks for Listening!
Season 7 Christmas Special – S7 E40

Merry Krimble and a ho ho ho!
S7 E40
Worst Little Listeners, thanks for tuning in again and bearing with us for another year. This year we have something truly special to share with you – no, not that we put a down payment on a short-bus (details soon for the crowdfunder). It just so happens that Reverend Rory’s parents were in town for a little early Christmas! And he was able to fast-talk invite them onto the show! Team Wifey – Diana Dowd and Mikie Ramirez – are also in the room; and let us not forget little Rikku, in for her yearly recording session. Listen in the new year for more outrageous and questionable samples!
Its not the longest show, but we have a lot of fun. There are gifts, embarrassing stories about The Rev, an intern gets a name, all the Christmas wishes and – most importantly – a classic retelling of “The Legend Of Hamburger James And The True Meaning Of Christmas”, as disastrously read by Reverend Rory.
This is our last episode of the year. One Ton Dually will be playing a show with the Riptide Bandits and Dawn of Envy at Davidson’s Distillery on NYE! Please come check it out.
We will see you in January with The Sway, an up-and-coming Reno funk band. From all of us, to all of you – have a joyous and wonderful holiday season. And if you’re not? Hit one of us up, reach out, call a friend, hug a cat – but don’t let it get to you. We love you.
Thanks for Listening.
