Infecto Skeletons – Back for More – S8 E23

S8 E25
Hey gang! Long time no hear! It’s been a crazy month with cancellations and surgeries and travelling and a whole bunch of other unexpected things, but we are finally back! Most of us anyway.
Nick, Rick and Kim welcome the Infecto Skeletons back to the studio. Mike and Andrew stop in to talk about stuff. Now, this is Rory doing the post and guess what – I haven’t listened to the episode yet (shocker, I know), but I do know one thing that they are talking about on the show: the new album. That’s right! The long awaited second release from Reno’s favorite scuzz-punks will hit the internet this weekend, and for a limited time, you’ll be able to download “Get Your Shit Together”, absolutely free!
After this though, it might be a while before you can catch them: in September, they are headed out for the Lost Skeletons Tour – a wild West Coast tour with Lost Idea, so grab the album while you can, learn all the words and wait patiently to forget them all while you puke on Justin’s feet in front of the stage at their next show in Reno.
Coming up this weekend is a lot of great shows you will want to get out of the house for.

Grimedog – It’s A Family Affair – S8 E22

S8 E24
Welcome to the Sausage Party!!! We’re happy to have Wolfman, Lucas and Hurricane from Grimedog in the studio today. These three Reno punks croon their way into your ears with a blend of 50’s rock, modern punk and effed up stories. And then, there’s the music. All kidding aside, we never stop kidding on this show. We should have been recording 20 min before the start of the episode because of all the funny shit we were saying. Unfortunately, you just got what was leftover.
Wolfman, Lucas and Hurricane are Grimedog and a family – Father, Son and Brother/Uncle…. in the normal way, like respectively, not anything weird…(god, you guys are gross). Their familiality and familiarity has not bred contempt, (at least not currently), but a tight trio of Reno garage punk. Musically and conversationally, they work together as a cohesive unit, covering and picking up for one another as needed. For all the bands who played on this show, they seemed least perturbed by not being able to see the drummer. Anyway… they are a lot of fun to riff with and have some great songs. They’re working on a full length at Dogwater, so look for it later this year. You can catch them next at Boshee Bash out at Pyramid next weekend.
This weekend, the big deal is Northern Nevada Pride 2018! Break out your rainbow formal clothes and glitter cause it’s time to be fabulous! Or not! #dependingonhoweveryouselfidentifyandexpressyourself !!!!! Reno Pride is something that has become very important to our communities; it wasn’t always here and this town has not always been as tolerant and accepting as it is… ironic as that might seem to some of us. It is awesome that it has survived and grown and become a linchpin of the local civic calendar and highlight of many people’s year. Please go out and support the festival on Saturday as well as the associated events all weekend long at all of your favorite LGBTQ venues and establishments, new and old.

Basket of Adorables – S7 E35

S7 E35
Congrats on stumbling upon our humble little podcast! This week our hosts sat down with the Adorables to talk some utter nonsense and hear some really great political folk punk.
The Adorables are a bit of a Reno super-group. All three members have been involved in the Reno music scene for years, with impressive stints in some of Reno’s finest rock bands like Stabby Unicorn, Pinky Polanski and Liver Scars (among others!). The Adorables are playing Marianarchy for the first time this December.

The Adorables – Nick, Felix, and Eric

Evil Ash – Down and Dirty – S7 E5
Road rash for your ears!
The Worst Little Podcast – S7 E4 – Download Link
On this weeks episode of Little House on the Prairie Worst Little Podcast we learn about the birds and the bees punk rock! It’s as simple as one-two-three-four! Helping us learn about punk rock (can you say ‘punk rock?’ I knew you could), is Reno’s very own Evil Ash! Evil Ash has been mixing it up at low-brow venues across our fair city for the last couple of years. It was high time they stopped by Dogwater for a session.
We had a lot of fun talking to them – lots of short fast songs too! But unfortunately, Evil Ash don’t have anything lined up firmly yet (Rick made sure no one was firm at the end of the show). You other bands, looking for someone to play with (like Rick… or Freebird) need to get these boys on a bill with you.
In other Reno news, please come out and see Eric Foreman perform at Foxy First Friday this weekend. Also be sure to catch Eddie and the Subtitles with Crawling Out and DJ 50 Spence at Shea’s!! Old SKOOL NITE!
Thanks for Listening!
Man the Tanks – Breathing New Life – S6 E31
Did’ja get yer turkey stuffed?
Worst Little Podcast S6 E31 – Download Link
Saving us from ourselves and a tide of grey nostril hairs, Man the Tanks storms Dogwater Studios with the new-fangled noises they call music! Cayden Linares, Jimi Bolan and Mike Messerli form up this hit squad of tight and fast musical aggression. Man the Tanks are a homegrown post-punk/hardcore band from here in Reno. I want to call them great new music, but it’s not true. They’ve been around for over a year. They’ve just not played in seedy dive bars venues I’ve frequented.
You can catch Man the Tanks soon though! On Thursday 12/7, they’ll be playing with Tounge’s Tide and Alec Moore at Rockbar. These guys are legit and it’ll be a great way to start off Marianarchy Weekend, which is going down at Jub Jubs on Dec 9-10, a Benefit for “Greatful Ted Zepplin”. It’s a great weekend for helping, because on 12/10, the new (and last) Sil Shoda CD/DVD release is a benefit for the MS Society too! It’s a big damned weekend! More about that next week.
Thanks for Listening!
Lil Mijhos – Running with Smoking Scissors – S6 E1

…and it happened with a BANG!
Worst Little Podcast – S6 E1 – Download Link
Good morrow, good friends! It’s a fine fine start to Season 6 we have here, with some upstarts in the Reno music scene, Lil Mijhos! Reice Guerrero and Tyler Charles roll up on Dogwater and pump out some kick ass tunes. They’ve got an alt/punk thing going on with a lot of energy and groove to it. I highly recommend checking them out at your next opportunity.
We also take a phone call from friend of the show, Kye Alfred Hillig. Kye came through town a couple years ago and has kept in touch during his travels! This week he’s promoting his new album, Great Falls Memorial Interchange. It’s not out yet, but you can listen to the track mentioned in the show by clicking on this link: Yes Grinning Face of Death
Good stuff. Get your listen on.
We would also be remiss if we did not also throw out a big congratulations to the happy couple, Nick Ramirez and Mikie Haley! They tied the know! It’s official! It was awesome! More later when Nick’s back in the saddle.
Thanks for Listening!
