Welcome to the Worst Little Podcast. We’re live from the recent, snowy past this week for our third installment of our Women’s March shows with The Grimtones! For the first time ever our awesome intern Shrek got to hang out in studio A with Nick and Kim! Congrats on making it across the hallway, Shrek! This week we’re asking important questions like: are you still friends with her and is she going to listen to this podcast? Tune in for fat, sweaty, German brats, botched circumcisions, and punk rock battle wounds (RIP, Alise’s ankle). But MOST IMPORTANTLY, there’s some badass music from one of Reno’s strongest lady musicians.

Michelle Bell of the Grimtones playing her guitar at Dogwater Studios.

Michelle Bell – Vocals and Guitar

The Grimtones spend their days cookin’ hot dogs, snorting kool-aid, fumblin’ about on yee plotter, and recording music. You can see Michelle, Carter, and young Nick, March 31st at Shea’s. They’re currently hard at work recording their new album at Dogwater Studios.

Thanks for the clap, Carter, and thanks to the Grimtones for being such excellent guests! Next week we have guest host Mikey Ramirez from The Shames joining us to interview Rachel McElhiney of Failure Machine and Alise Corbin of SWIGS for our final week of Women’s March shows!

Carter – Drums, with Old “Silver Fox” Nick Ramirez

If you’re inclined to help your fellow Renoites make downtown greater than ever, head over to their fundraiser page. There are some pretty sweet rewards, but really, the only reward I need is HQ staying open so I can see more rad shows like Saturday night’s.

Rory, Nick, Rick, and Chewy bring you this week’s podcast from a not so hot and sweaty studio (because Kim’s not there). This week we are joined by Lee, Perry, Amelia, and Travis from Basement Tapes! Listen up for some top notch Reno garage rock and learn how many times we should forgive someone before we’re allowed to punch them!

But FIRST we are joined briefly by excellent Reno songwriter, Greg Gilmore. Greg is talking to us about/premiering his new single, What Am I? Check out his Facebook page for video’s and music links. Let’s listen to some music!

Greg Gilmore posing with a guitar for his single promo photo.

Greg Gilmore joined us to debut his new single, Who Am I?

But back to Basement Tapes. Basement Tapes describes their music as retro, 60s, raw, high-energy garage rock. Revisiting a time when music had music had soul, with post-modern punk attitude, melodic, grooving bass lines, thunderous rolling drums, powerful crashing guitar riffs and a harmonious couple on vocals. Basement Tapes plays straight-forward simple rock and roll.

Thankfully we’re not burning and we’re not flooding! Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent natural disasters. Y’all are in for some great instrumental surf punk, some talk about old naked Satanists, and jokes about me (Kadillac Kim, in case you’re not following along) hooking up with our podcast guests! We even have new interns to make fun of! Don’t worry guys, you too can be like me with enough ambition and a vagina… oh wait. As fun as it is to talk about incest and Satanism, we actually have a band here, so let’s get into some music.

Riptide Bandits have been around for a “really long time”, according to band members. They are so legendary they don’t even need to know when they formed. It is as if they always existed. They might be vampires.
