Hello! We’re live from the recent, frozen past this week with podcast virgins Condemned Existence! We’re talking about the state of the Reno scene, Rory throws some shade (and light!), and we ask important questions like “does playing rock and roll get you laid?” (spoiler: not really). It’s always terrifying when the gang bang starts with this much enthusiasm. Press play!

Condemnded Existence describes their sound as a blend of fast thrash parts with groovy rhythms and breaks. They most recently opened for the amazing Ned Flanders themed metal band, Okily Dokily! Their next show is March 22 in Concord. Follow their social medias to keep an eye out for their EP release happening soon.

Thanks to Condemned Existence for being such fun guests! Until we hear from them again, stay busy this weekend. Do something. Be seen! Welcome to literally the worst podcast in the world!

The-Worst-Little-Podcast-2017-08-28  – S7 E26 Download Link

This week we welcome Rory back to the show but not in his normal capacity as he is one of tonight’s guests! Also missing but present is Mr. Nick Ramirez. Nick and Rory, along with band-mates Spike and Jackson are here as One Ton Dually, and they’re ready with like six songs, so hold onto your tits, dear listeners. Listen up as Chewy and Kadillac Kim attempt to fill Nick and Rory’s rather large hosting shoes/chairs. We’re here talking about murders and Reno and Murderino’s!

But enough about us, let’s talk about the BAND. One Ton Dually is a rock and roll band from Reno, NV, singing songs about fast drinking and hard wimmin (yeah, they made that a word). The band describes themselves as a 4-speed good time transmission with top of the line suspension and a powerful engine under the hood. I’d take that for a ride, and you should too.

One Ton Dually has recently played at the Saint and Shea’s, which is to say they get around. If you know what I mean… Like their Facebook page to learn about new show dates and to link to their music.

While you’re waiting for One Ton Dually, be sure to check out the following awesome-sauce events in Reno.

This Friday is Foxy First Friday with host Rory Dowd, featuring Mike Metzger. Apparently Mike is well recommended by many low-life musicians who own guitars. I mean, that’s what the internet has to say and the internet is never wrong. If you want to challenge the internet, or if you just want to hear some great live music, get to Foxy Olive by 9 p.m.  21+ No cover.

Saturday punk bands U.S. Bombs / Abandon Minds / Another Damn Disappointment share the stage at Shea’s. 9 p.m. 21+

If you haven’t heard, Sunday is the new Saturday in Reno. Check out the Violence Creeps / Negative Sex / Murder Dream at the Holland Project. 8 p.m. all ages. $5

At Alturas on the DL, go have an epic good time seeing Johnny Cash tribute Cash’d Out with Cowboy Indian. 21+ 8 p.m. $15 (tickets here)

For all you Burner’s and would be Burners, Monday through Wednesday is the annual city wide party known as The Great Depressurization, presented by our friends at Fresh Bakin’. Decompress and readjust to the default world with excellent entertainment by the likes of Kelly Proud (details here), The Utility Players (details here), and big name DJ’s. The three day event takes place at The Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus in Reno, and MontBleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe. Click through to see the full lineup.

If you need a break from the casino traffic, go to Cargo on Tuesday for Saving Banksy / The Great Bingo Revival at Cargo. See the film, stay for the party. 21+ 8 p.m. no cover

That’s all I’ve got this week and this is where I’ll be. If you have events you think I should go to let me know! I’ll do just about anything once.

There’s no show next week thanks to Labor Day, but we’ll be back on September 11th with Riptide Bandits! Thanks for listening Reno. You’re the best.

You never really know what’s going to happen here…. so go ahead… just stick your hand in…

The Worst Little Podcast – S5 E35 – Download Link

Switching gears from the onslaught of recent bands, this week, we went solo. We went old school, with longtime Reno musician, Todd Ballowe getting down at the studio. An ironman of Reno entertainers, Todd has played an active role, in different capacities, in the Reno entertainment and music scene for over 20 years. And yet, he still has time to drop by our shitty little show for a second time! What a sucker great guy!

Experience the smoothness…

Todd was recently a featured performer at Marianarchy Winterball 2015 and you’ll be able to catch him at the upcoming, ressurected, new and improved, Foxy First Friday with the Reverend Rory Dowd at the Foxy Olive on January 1st! Despite NYE being on the day before Todd and I are going to rock the House, down at the Foxy. Won’t you join us?

The cast of Avenue Q and their puppets

Do you like fun? We hope you like fun! You can spell fun, right? G-E-T-T-I-N-G-H-I-G-H spells fun! In an unprecedented show, we have a number of members of the cast from the Tahoe Players’  production of Avenue Q! Cast members Princeton, Kate Monster, Nicky and a couple of Bad Idea Bears join us for the show. They are an interesting bunch – a little on the creepy side though, and not just because they are puppets. Surprisingly, Nicky gets the lowest score on the quiz that we’ve ever had on the show EVER!

Later in the show, the wonderful puppeteer and acting talent of Sarah Turner (Girl Bad Idea Bear), Tarek Barghouti (Princeton), Melissa Barusch (Kate Monster), Joanna Dunlap (Nicky) and Shawna Hafen (Boy Bad Idea Bear) join us in the studio. They’re a great bunch and we had a lot of fun talking to them on the show and listening to some of their songs, as accompanied by friend of the show, Tristan Selzler, on the ivories.

Late in the show we take a call from The Vampirates on the road. Chris Fox tells us a finny story form their time in The Sunshine State that you can also read all about here!

Dang! I missed it!

The Worst Little Podcast – S4 E18 – Download link

Hey dudes and dudettes! I hope you’re ready for a great show! We have a brand new band on the show. Introducing: THE GRIMTONES! Michelle Belle and Carter Stellon, formerly of Scarlet Presence, come into the studio to show off their shiny new songs and impress us with how growed up they are! Seriously, these kids are sick talented. I AM JEALOUS OF THEM!!!!!

Carter Stellon squinting his eyes

Carter’s turning Japanese, turning Japanese, I really think so

Unfortunately, Rev. Rory was unable to make it to the show (AGAIN!) so Nick really prepared this time and captained a great show this week. I can’t wait to actually listen to it! Chewie, of course, is still in the house and moved up a notch. Dogwater Dick and Nate the Intern are alsu, as usual, dismissed to Studio B, here at Dogwater Studios. But I know for a fact that Dick loves recording with these two, so I’m sure he didn’t mind just listening to The Grimtones.

Michelle Belle sticking her tounge out

Michelle’s not helping…. or is she?

At any rate, I’m going to stop blogging and get to listening to the show while I prep for my own shows this weekend. Come Check out Reverend Rory and Nick Ramirez at the re-inaugural First Fridays at Foxy Olive. Rory is taking over where Eric Foreman left off and Nick is his first guest too! Should be a great show. You can also catch Reverend Rory at Tronix  this Saturday as the sole musical entertainment at the NNNLA’s Impact, a fetish exhibition and demo.

Thanks for Listening!

Auf Wiedersehen and goodbye…

The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S4 E8

It is with heavy heart that I write to you this week. At first I was all like “Hell yeah! Hella Acapella is on the show!!!” But then I was all like “Awwww…It’s the last Hella Acapella show (featuring our good friend Chas Dawes)”. Yes, it’s true, bass singer and LMT, Chas Dawes is leaving fair Reno, NV for the happier shores of Hawaii – where he is getting hooked up like a mofo! We are sad to see him go, but happy for his good fortune.

Chas Dawes of Hella Acapella
We spend a lot of time talking about the previous week’s Chazapalooza at Jub Jub’s where the whole gang came out to say goodbye. It was one hell of a party with lots of great performances and some surprise performers! Hella Acapella had a GREAT set and left an indelible memory on everyone there, just like the way Chas has with everyone whose life he has graced.

Diana Ekins of Hella Acapella

I’d also like to take a brief moment to congratulate Mrs. and Mr. Jessica and Todd Imus who were joined in wedlock this weekend by none other than Rev. Rory Dowd himself. It was a very special day to be a part of and he was honored to have been included. May their marriage last as long as, like, forever and shit.

Nick Ramirez of Hella Acapella

While I’m here – another quick plug for Reno open mics. There is one just about every day of the week – you have no idea of how lucky we are in that. One of the newest is going through a bit of a change. Starting Tuesday, April 1 (not a joke) Foxy Olive will be host to “Trashtalk and Trashrock” – an evening of poetry and rekkids. Sign ups start at 7, spoken word starts at 8 and garage rock and roll starts at 10. Hosted by Thee Reverend Rory Dowd and a cast of other fun performers, it’s going to change the face of Tuesdays in Reno!

Valorie Tyler of Hella Acapella

So, that’s the cue for my line:
I’ve got nothin’ else. Thanks for listening!

Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – Episode 39

Alison Jasmine Martin

Warning – Chewbacca has progeny!

First of all, we’d like to congratulate Josh and Christina and welcome their beautiful daughter Alison into the world. We wish her a wonderful life, brains, beauty, grace (take after yo momma, little girl!) and that she finds joy in all that she does. HOWEVER, it’s a pretty convenient excuse for Chewie to have to miss the show again. Once again, he proves his unreliability as a co-host and off-air personality. But, whatevs….

On the show this week we have the pleasure of hanging out with Shane Whitecloud, Mike Reynolds and Ernie Anthony from Seasons of Insanity. I’ll be honest – didn’t know if these guys were going to be cool or not. They TOTALLY flaked on us a few episodes back (remember, the last time Layla was here? The friends of hers that made her look bad on the noted Worst Little Podcast? And then we all sang ‘Kumbaya’? remember?), and ALMOST forgot about us this time. But they came through! At the buzzer! And it was good. Very good, in fact. So good, in fact, that I urge all of you to catch their show on December 10th. I think it’s at the Knit, but you’ll just have to listen to the whole show to find out. In fact.

(F.Y.I. – Worst Little Podcast EXCLUSIVE never-before heard acoustic versions of “Unsung Heroes” and “Gallon of Homey Wine”  by Seasons of Insanity,

Seasons of Insanity, Movember and the Skatehouse with Nick and Rory from the Worst Little Podcast

one take. done.

But WAIT! There’s MORE!
Also on this week’s episode, Jacob Carnahan, captain of Team MoFoxy, came in to talk about the international fundraiser, MOvember, promoting men’s health. Why? Because we like balls. We even heart balls. We heart MOvember. And fundraising. Jacob, and many Team MoFoxy members can be found at the Foxy Olive. Gothere and give them money. They won’t spend all of it on booze. They’ll spend it on balls. Reverend Rory and Nick are also on the team – donate money to them!

Darin Honorof, longtime friend of Nick, also stopped by to throw some love out to a new project in South Lake Tahoe – the Skatehouse. It’s an indoor skatepark that wants to help develop and promote young kids into skating or boarding or all of those things that I would break my neck doing cause I’m an old man. Visit the website, visit the park!

Ok… I’m out of steam. It’s an awesome show. I think you’ll like it.

Oh, yes…. and thanks for listening.
