Voted Best Band – Voted Best Podcast – S3 E42
Yeah, Yeah, I know….
Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S3 E39
Season Three is winding to a close. Things will be ALL NEW in Season Four. Like getting the podcast out on time (still looking for the right sucker applicant to fill the position of Production Intern – contact Reverend Rory to make that happen).
But still, this is a fun show. This here is VOTED BEST BAND!!! They are an underrated rock talent in the Reno are, hailing from the rural community of Black Rock, NV. Inspired by the music of their now far off youth, they continue to play the anthems and dancing music that first sent them down the life of punk rock losers.
These Voted Best Band guys are seriously wasting their talent in this project, with pedigrees that include some of the mightiest Reno bands including The Vampirates, The Riptide Bandits, Suckapunch, Twelve Gauge Facelift and more. This kind of star power doesn’t just happen overnight. It takes years of meticulous study and rehearsal to write the kind of songs they do. Which is to say none.
This episode was a lot of fun and the boys came to play ball with the quiz. I forget everything that was said, but it was really funny. Bear with us, it felt like a slow start before it grew to our normal cacophony. But maybe that’s a good thing.
I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore. I rarely make sense. I doubt anyone is reading this.
Anyway – thanks for listening.
Undenied – Curtain Call – S3 E36
Off tha’ hook!
Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S3 E33
This week, we’d like to introduce to you the unleashed power of Undenied, a metal band here in Reno. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control and up to the whim of the Norse gods of old, this has turned out to be Undenied’s final performance! EXCLUSIVELY from the Worst Little Podcast in the World at Dogwater Studios. Almost three full seasons in and we STILL bring you exclusive crap every week!
But that’s what we do here at the Worst Little Podcast – we document Reno’s music and bands before they have a chance to break up and fade into ignominy! It happens, and we wish Casey, Fester, Cameron, Dee and Ace nothing but the best in their future endeavors and facemelting!!! These guys are pretty talented, so it won’t surprise me to see them forming other bands or getting snapped up by existing ones. When it comes to bands that entertain us, Undenied is in the winners circles. Lots of fucked up lauchs on the show, including a water sports story. Yes. That’s exactly what I mean. We even have video proof of this wacky tale of hi-jinks gone absolutely right! Just look below:
Wasn’t that fun??? *shudder* Thanks, Undenied! Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!
Thanks for Listening!
Merkin: Don’t Ask What This Song Is About – S3 E12
Holy audio overload, Batman!
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S03 E12
Greetings, Worsters! Lovely to see you today. Are you having a good day? Does this seem a little weird? It should, because I’m buttering you up before you get into the hot ear mess that is this week’s episode. We have Merkin in the studio and the boys do not disappoint. They record a couple songs for the first time EVAR here on the podcast.
Other Highlights include:
- Dane drinking Reverend Rory’s Coffee
- Dane and Alán arguing
- Dane talking too loud
- Dane tuning his guitar
- And so on…
It’s a good thing these boys are talented, because this show is just a trainwreck!
It’s not actually as bad as all that – Merkin is a fun bunch of guys that we love and it was great to have them back on the show (mostly). We also spend a few minutes with new friend of the show, Will C! Will is a good ol’ boy from MissouRAH, like The Rev. He took a few to warm up and then dove right into the show with a couple zingers. Will C will be appearing at the Pioneer Underground this Friday and Saturday for three shows. A veteran as well as funnyman, Will C informs us that the shows will be a fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, so get out there and support a great cause while you laugh and drink.
And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the other white elephant in the room – Another Return of Chewie!!!! It’s good to have our boy back!
The Reverend’s Show Picks of the Week:
Friday – Creative Coalition Midtown Block Party (Midtown)
Saturday – The Kanes Black Magic CD release party (The Knit)
Anyway, Thanks For Listening!!!
Lawrence Coleman III and James Dilworth: Sierra Nevada Serendipity – S3 E6
I love it when a lack of planning comes together.
The Worst Little Podcast – Download Link – S3 E6
I had rescheduled and rescheduled both of the guests this week, Lawrence Coleman III and James Dilworth. Finally, we got the dates set. Then “Larry” decides to bring an entourage with him – seriously, like 2 extra people! AND we had the Bryce the intern and Spencer the PA there. It was a goddamn circus. But, like the circus, creepily entertaining.
Lawrence Coleman III is the guitarist for Livitz Livitz, but he comes in and throws down a few original tunes that he’s been working on. He brought accompaniment, but his chauffeur, Johnny Mo, is a chauffeur, not a percussionist. No instead, Lawrence picks up a drummer, this awesome guy, Marcello, out of the damn ether and brings him in for a jam session on the show!!! And quietly, in the background is loyal listener Nicole! She got a behind the scenes tour of her favorite Reno podcast… and at least said she had a good time. I guess there are benefits to being friends with Lawrence Coleman III. (I’m not convinced)
James Dilworth is a Reno filmmaker, poet, translator, instructor and writer about town. Currently he is showing a series of four short films that he has written and directed. The next showing will be on March 23 – listen to the show to find out where!
We also field a call from the Vampirates on the show! Chris and Dave check in with us minutes before taking the stage in Albequerque. They have a FUCKED up story about getting to the Bay Area that you should really listen to.
Really great show this week – we get really disgusting and bawdy; Larry does a great Max Volume impersonation; spent a lot of time on the State of the Scene; met the awesomely talented and funny Marcello; busted Johnny Mo’s chops endlessly. Good times.
Don’t forget to check out the Blazing Mics at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor this week with host Chris “Puddin'” Hart. It’s always a good time and remember – every performer gets a free drink, $25 bar tab for the best performance, AND there are ALWAYS $1 Monkey Juice shots!
Thanks for Listening!
Peeling Back the Curtain Before We Burn It. – S1 E35
Worst Little Podcast – Episode 35
Special Edition: Cherrybear Records – Behind the Music
We feature a lot of local bands and that gets really old sometimes, so we thought we’d stretch out to the OTHER side of the music scene – production! Jess from Cherrybear Records takes her turn in the hotseat this week. She is promoting the release of the Great Undiscovered 2011 double-CD set and talks about some of the great bands she has helped turning great ideas into CDs, buttons and more. Mostly though, we just bullshit as usual.
We also welcome back Chewie! He’s finally back from laying brick in Elko, NV and back home to take care of his expectant wife. We should have him until February this time as long as he doesn’t fuck up the show; it’s good to have him back! We didn’t really get into it, but he had a fantastic weekend what with UNR’s crushing defeat over UNLV at the annual battle for Nevada and the Raider’s triumph. Rory is also quite pleased with your 2011 Green Bay Packers. Great weekend for sports – too bad we don’t have a sports show.
We talk about sex, drugs and rock’n’roll, the Reno Zombie Crawl, tattoos and lots of crazy hi-jinks of the Reno variety. Some days, the conversation flows like water – other times, you get this. Also included for your listening pleasure are some unreleased Courtesy Stitch songs. One of them is “the foulest and dirtiest thing I’ve ever recorded,” according to Dogwater Dick. It’s pretty fucking amazing…if you’re into train wrecks with a good beat.
Thanks for listening.
